Hi Souls, it’s Kathleen here 👋🏽 and my darling son Abel. He’s such a sweet little guy, you can tell by his smile.

I’ve been thinking about my skills as a Skin Therapist /Corneotherapist and I was wondering if I could put them to good use again.

I won’t be able to practise in a clinic, but I am open to providing services in a virtual online sense.

However, I’m just unsure as to whether that would be helpful or not. Or what I could offer you all instead?

I feel that my services, skills and knowledge is best used in a face-to-face setting providing skin treatments and guidance along your skin transformation journey.

But I can’t do that anymore, as I am called to motherhood and spending all my days with my darling children. But realistically, I could do something for a few hours a day while my kiddos were sleeping.

My question….

Is there anything I could provide you in an online way that would be of value to you?

Please be honest, I won’t be offended if you say you would prefer in-person treatments ☺️ I just want to know if there is a possibility for something else.

I can’t promise that I will be back, but I just wanted to get some ideas after thinking about this today. I miss helping you all along your skin transformation journeys 🤍 I just have no idea how I could apply my skills/knowledge in an online way.

PS. Thank you for all the lovely comments on my last post, it inspired this thought process and made me consider coming back in some capacity.

Hello Souls 👋🏽

It’s been such a long time since I posted anything on here. I’ve been enthralled, engulfed and so excited about my new journey as a Mama.

Since speaking to you last, I have actually had another baby, a little boy. His name is Abel and he actually just turned one earlier this year. So right now I’m a very busy and happy stay at home Mum. PS. This photo is a little old now, but I just love it.

You know, my life is vastly different now, but I still think about you all. I’ll be in the shower, cooking dinner or cleaning and I’ll remember one of our conversations about your skin/life and I want to check in with you. I remember all of your faces and even the little details about your lives, I hope that all of you are doing fantastically.

The skin treatment landscape has been changing over the past few years and I’ve been witnessing it all online. Thankfully Beauty Therpaists and Skin Therapists in Adelaide are gaining in knowledge, understanding and skills and I’m witnessing the public being more interested in health in general. These are all great things for our skin.

If you have time today, could you please comment back on this post and tell me how you have been going? How’s your skin? And what’s something interesting that you would like to share.

I’ll go first, not skin related but something interesting to share! Since closing SAST, I have been super passionate and excited about ‘from scratch’ cooking and homesteading skills. We don’t have chickens or other farm animals (we are city dwellers) but I’ve been practising my baking skills, which has included sourdough bread. It’s so much fun! Have you tried it?

Hi Souls 👋🏽 it’s Kat here! SAST is officially closed now, and most of you (but 5 of you) should have received your pre-order sale products in the post.

Firstly, THANK YOU for all the beautiful emails, direct messages and comments on my recent posts. I have read them and am finally getting time to reply to them, life is busy with a baby who can now stand up haha

I just want you to all know how thankful I am for the support, the connections and lovely times spent during SAST’s 3 years of operating.

Ending things in this way was never the plan, but deciding to solely focus on being a Mama has been an incredibly life giving decision for my little family.

Eventually once all our ducks are in a row, I would love to be back doing what I love. It was an honour to transform so many of your beautiful skins, and to witness how this has positively affected your life.

My heart hurts writing this 💔

Hello Souls 👋🏽

It’s Kathleen here and here are some cute photos of Reyna when I visited the clinic to water the plants last week.

She is soooo photogenic and such a happy little soul.

But this post isn’t about Reyna, it’s to share the heartbreaking but also liberating news.

Soul Awaken is officially closing and I will not be returning for services, for now.

A lot went into this decision and although it’s sad in a lot of ways, I am excited for what the future will hold for SAST once I am able to come back after I am done growing my family.

Hello Souls 👋🏽

Updates (mat leave, wait list for bookings, online store + Reyna).

Souls, I hope you are all really well and enjoying 2022 so far. Reyna is almost 6 months old and I'm finally feeling more on top of things as a Mum. Maternity leave has been filled with overflowing love, sleep deprivation, calming walks in nature, big smiles, new Mum anxiety, a body that's figuring out how to put it's self back together, lots of first times and soooo many cuddles.

As planned, I will be coming back to the clinic SOON, no date set in stone, but as soon as Miss Reyna will accept a bottle so she can be looked after by someone else. We have been working on this for over a month now and she is finally taking in small amounts. I will only be returning for minimal hours to begin with to ease myself and Reyna into having time apart.

If you are eagerly awaiting to come in for a treatment, then please make sure to send us a DM to be added to the wait list. We will contact you FIRST once the books are open again.

Also if you are a current client, you will have noticed that I have started doing monthly promotions on products in the online store. UPDATE on maternity leave 💕

Hi Souls,

Firstly I want to say a huge thank you to everyone for the kind words of encouragement about my new journey as a Mama. Your understanding and patience has been so appreciated and it makes me so excited to start treating in clinic again.

I initially though that the 6 month mark would be when I would return back to clinic services. And I naively thought it would be a straight forward thing.

However, initially I am aiming to return to the clinic for 1 day per week as soon as I am confident that little miss Reyna is ready. I am hoping this will be in the coming months (September/October/November).

At this current point in time she is exclusively breastfed and has notourisouly rejected bottles for some time now. I am currently training her how to use a sippy cup so that she can be fed by others. For now, she's not quite ready to be left in someone else's care for an extended period, but we are making progress!

Also, I haven't found a suitable childcare centre or carer to look after Miss Reyna just yet. I'm still looking, researching and pondering on this. Once I find a solution it will be a slow transition until we are both ready to have some time away from eachother throughout the day.

Being a Mum is the most amazing experience of my entire life. I am so grateful to be Reyna's Mama. She truly is a blessing.

Why I created Soul Awaken...

Hi there, my name is Kathleen, but most people just call me Kat. I am the director and lead therapist here at Soul Awaken Skin Therapies and I wanted to quickly say thank you for stopping by. I really appreciate you taking interest and your eagerness to support a small local Adelaide business.

Many clients, friends and family members have asked me this question and I would be delighted to share it with you too. Simply put, I created Soul Awaken out of a desire to help people.
