Most people with a sexually transmitted infection (STI) won’t have any symptoms and can unknowingly pass it on. The upside? All STIs are treatable.

STIs are on the rise across Australia. In the last 10 years alone, syphilis cases have tripled, and gonorrhoea cases have doubled. Up to 80% of people with an STI show no symptoms, but that doesn’t mean the infection isn’t active or contagious.

It’s simple: Get tested. Get treated.

Testing is quick, private, and often doesn’t even require seeing a doctor. Don’t wait for symptoms. If you’re sexually active, make testing part of your health routine.

Most sexually transmitted infections (STIs) don’t show any symptoms. That’s the key message behind Sexual and Reproductive Health Australia’s latest awareness campaign, encouraging regular testing as a normal and essential part of being sexually active.

We’re working to reduce the stigma and fear that can surround STI testing and positive results. The campaign reassures people that testing is simple and confidential and reminds them that all STIs are treatable (and nothing to be ashamed of). Getting tested shows care for yourself and others.

This national push focuses on:
• Promoting regular STI testing
• Educating about asymptomatic STIs
• Encouraging open conversations about sexual health

✨ Paracetamol in Pregnancy – Setting the Record Straight ✨

Recent claims linking paracetamol (Panadol) use in pregnancy to autism or ADHD have caused understandable concern.

Both the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) have confirmed there is no scientific evidence that paracetamol use in pregnancy causes autism, ADHD, or intellectual disability.

👉 Paracetamol remains a safe and important pain management option during pregnancy.
👉 Managing pain and fever is vital – untreated symptoms can pose serious risks to both mother and baby.

If you have any questions or concerns, please book an appointment with one of our clinicians. 💙

🔗 Learn more from the TGA: https://www.tga.gov.au/news/media-releases/paracetamol-use-pregnancy

Trusted Australian organisations continue to support the safe use of paracetamol when needed during pregnancy. If you're unsure or have questions, speak to your doctor or midwife.
