How fantastic was our Wheelie Wellness session at Kingborough Community Hub on Wednesday! From wheelchair skills and airline travel tips to shoulder health and emergency preparedness, our agenda was packed with useful topics for our attendees.

It’s about sharing knowledge and supporting each other.

We are so pleased to share this feedback from one attendee "It was amazing and covered so many topics which were relevant to me. The group was unlike what I had expected and admire greatly: It was welcoming, respectful and most of all positive and taught me so much"

Wheelie Wellness will be back after Easter!

📣 Have you visited a GP in Tasmania?

The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing is running the Primary Care Enhancement Program (PCEP) in Tasmania & would love to hear from you. This program helps GPs and nurses better support people with intellectual disability.

Our research team — including researchers with intellectual disability — wants to know if the program is making a difference.

🗣️ We’re inviting people with intellectual disability and carers to talk with us (up to 1 hour) about their recent GP visits.

We’ll ask:
✔️ What you liked
✔️ What you didn’t like
✔️ What could be better

💳 Participants will receive a $50 gift card as a thank you.

For more details or to sign up, please contact Nic and Katie: pcep2eval@uq.edu.au or (07) 3163 7584.

Thank you for helping improve GP care 💙
