Here are the nine classroom challenges we are curious about as Paediatric Audiologists:
🖤 Does my child appear to hear sounds?
🖤 Does my child appear to listen in the classroom?
🖤 Can my child follow spoken instructions in class?
🖤 Does it take my child time to process spoken information?
🖤 Can my child understand instructions even when it’s noisy?
🖤 Is my child overwhelmed in a busy classroom setting?
🖤 Is my child sensitive to loud sounds or noise?
🖤 Does my child request teaching aids such as a TV are turned up louder?
🖤 Is my child able hear and imitate speech sounds and can my child understand the difference between a question, a statement or a joke when speaking with others?
Healthy ears and adequate access to sound are essential for supporting listening, literacy and learning achievement.
