Puffy & holding onto water?
It’s not weight gain.
It’s inflammation.
And no, eating less won’t fix it.
Most mums aren’t gaining fat.
They’re running on broken sleep, constant mental load, under-fuelled nervous systems, ultra-processed “health” foods… and a phone that never leaves their hand, then wondering why their bodies are holding on.
Constant scrolling = constant stimulation.
Your nervous system never fully powers down.
Cortisol stays elevated.
Inflammation stays high.
And the body responds by retaining water and slowing fat loss.
That puffiness you’re fighting? It’s feedback!
Cutting carbs, skipping meals, smashing workouts, or “detoxing” only tells the body one thing:
we’re under threat.
What actually helps (and this is where it gets unpopular):
• more protein, not less food
• better fats, not “low-fat”
• cut seed oils, not more “heart-healthy” marketing
• stable blood sugar, not coffee-first mornings
• nervous system regulation, not more discipline
• less screen stimulation, especially at night
• sleep + light hygiene, not harder workouts
Even looking at environmental load, toxic cleaning and beauty products, screens, constant alerts and EMFs all very important when your system is already maxed out.
Your body isn’t holding water because it’s stubborn.
It’s holding water because it’s smart.
Reduce the inflammatory signals…
and the body lets go naturally.
Comment “INFLAMMATION” or DM me if this hit a nerve.
