🚨 Important NDIS Update: New Funding Periods 🚨

From 19 May 2025, the NDIS will be introducing new funding periods for all newly issued plans.

👉 What does this mean?

If you already have a current plan, nothing changes your funding will continue the same way.

These updates only apply to new plans issued after 19 May 2025.

If you’re coming up for a plan review or expecting a new plan soon, it’s important to discuss these changes with your NDIS planner.

🌟 Important NDIS Update – Thriving Kids Program🌟

From 1 July 2026, the Australian Government will begin rolling out the Thriving Kids Program a $2 billion initiative designed to better support children aged 8 and under with mild to moderate developmental delay or autism.

âś… What this means

Children with significant and permanent disabilities will continue to be supported by the NDIS.
Children with less complex needs will be supported through mainstream services like schools, GPs, and community health centres under Thriving Kids.
The aim is to provide early, accessible, family-friendly support while ensuring the NDIS remains sustainable.

đź—“ Timeline

July 2026 – Transition period begins.
Mid-2027 – Full rollout. Children with mild/moderate needs entering after this time will access Thriving Kids instead of the NDIS.

đź’ˇGood to know

Children already on the NDIS before mid-2027 will remain supported until equivalent Thriving Kids services are ready.
Supports may include parent coaching, allied health, school-based programs, and group/community services.

At Your Journey Your Choice Support Services, we’ll continue to keep families informed, advocate for participants, and ensure no child misses out on the supports they need. 💙

If you’d like to talk about how this change may affect your family, please reach out to our team.

Tragically, every year over 65,000 Australians attempt to take their own life and over 3,000 Australians die by su***de. Lifeline receives over 1 million contacts from people in crisis each year.

For World Su***de Prevention Day (Sept 10), Your Journey Your Choice will be taking part in Out of the Shadows and walking for the 9 people lost to su***de every day.

We are walking to raise funds for Lifeline to provide su***de prevention services and support Aussies in need. Together we can ensure that no one has to face their darkest moments alone.

May 12 is Fibromyalgia Awareness Day 💜 Over 1 million Australians live with fibromyalgia – a complex, chronic condition that causes widespread pain, fatigue, sleep disturbance, and cognitive difficulties often called “fibro fog.” Despite being invisible, fibromyalgia is very real – and for many, life-changing. It’s often misunderstood, misdiagnosed, and dismissed, leaving people to navigate years without answers or support. 🧠 Fibromyalgia is classified as a nociplastic pain condition, meaning the nervous system processes pain differently. There is no cure, but with the right care and community, many people find ways to manage and improve their quality of life. You are not alone. 👉 Take the National Pain Survey and tell us about your experience: https://redcap.hmri.org.au/surveys/?s=AEM7AWMMN4KE7RTY
