Though the word ‘sinus’ has a multitude of definitions, it is commonly used in reference to the air-filled spaces inside the bones of the forehead, cheeks, and behind the nose (Henson et al., 2021). When inflammation occurs within these sinuses (such as in hay fever or from an infection), it can cause an increase in mucus secretion, which can result in a blockage of the sinuses. This can result in mild to severe pain in the forehead, below the eyes, around the cheeks, behind the nose and even around the teeth! Sufferers of Sinus Headaches may also experience:
1. Runny nose or congestion during headache.
2. Watery eyes during headache.
3. Increased pressure or pain in sinuses.
