We introduced breath work to the kids at a local vacation care last week.
Helping children understand how and where their breath flows through their body is a great way to introduce breathing techniques into their practice.
Breath work can be introduced into a child’s practice by making it fun and interactive… using Pom poms, feathers, bubbles and drawings.
We asked the children how they felt after practicing the square breath technique
“I feel calm”
“I feel spacey”
“I feel my breath in my tummy”
These are observations children made about their bodies reaction to focusing completely on the breath. Creating a mind and body connection.
