Great news. We are happy to share that June’s Health Blog has just been released. Check it out by following the link in our Bio. This month we decided to champion National Spinal Health Week which was celebrated at the end of last month. We give you the facts and recommendations from the week, discuss exercise and its importance for achieving a healthy spine and we finish by giving you one of our commonly prescribed spinal mobility routines.
Given that lower back pain is now the leading cause of disability worldwide, this may be one of the most important blogs we have released to date. We hope you enjoy.

Our feet set the foundations on which we can achieve upright locomotion. Our foots ability to adapt and transfer energy to the surface below affects the way we can perform daily tasks like standing, walking, running, jumping and change of direction. Having healthy flexibility, strength, balance, stability and power in our feet makes for efficient energy transfer and biomechanics throughout the whole body. Essentially healthy feet allow for efficient load transfer to the knees, hips then spine etc and ensures that other areas don’t have to make up for lacklustre foot performance. Research shows that exposing our feet to challenges such as exercise and being barefoot is fundamental to achieving healthy movement, reducing injury and lowering pain in the body.

This week we wanted to talk about a very common presentation that we see in clinic. Headaches can be very debilitating and affects many of us over the course of our lives. To help out we wanted to shine a light on what the research is currently saying. Remember that making sense of your pain is the way forward to defeating it.
