It takes a team. I want to say my team, but really it’s our team that got us here. I’m so grateful for everyone who helped make this move possible, especially Dean and Andy from Pacific Blue Construction. They’ve been amazing to work with — honest, kind, and absolute legends at what they do. I’m definitely going to miss our building crew.

To our patients, we can’t wait to welcome you into our new home at 60 Cabarita Ave, Tugun QLD 4224 from tomorrow.

What are the chances of a gynaecologist finding this on the beach?! 😳 Swipe to see what washed up… definitely not your average seashell 😂

Always a reminder to look after our planet in any way possible, we don’t want our pleasure to harm the earth. I try to pick up rubbish when I can (this one I left 🙊). At the clinic, we do our best to run as sustainably as possible, small steps that make a difference.

Caring for our bodies and our planet both deserve love and respect 🌊💚🌿

MHT and HRT are simply different names for the same therapy.

The language has changed to reflect what it really is — support through menopause, not replacement.

For some women, it may ease symptoms like hot flushes, sleep changes, or mood shifts. For others, a different approach may feel right.

Menopause is a natural transition. With care and understanding, it can also be a time of reflection, renewal, and reconnection with your body.

Is topical oestrogen the same as hormone replacement therapy?

Not exactly. Topical oestrogen works locally on the vaginal tissue to restore moisture and elasticity, with very little reaching the bloodstream. That means it doesn’t treat full-body symptoms like hot flushes or mood changes, but it can still be an important part of caring for your vaginal health during perimenopause and menopause.

Every woman’s journey through menopause is unique. The goal is finding what helps you feel comfortable and supported in your body again.

This is a reverse breech extraction, a technique we sometimes use during a caesarean when the baby’s head is deeply engaged in the pelvis and can’t be safely lifted out in the usual way.

In these cases, the baby is gently delivered feet first to reduce pressure and keep both mother and baby safe.
Every birth is different, but the goal is always the same: a safe delivery and a calm, steady arrival earthside.

Grateful to this beautiful family for allowing us to share this moment, and to the wonderful for capturing it with such care.

Becoming a fully qualified Gynaecologist in Australia takes time, around 11 to 12 years of training after high school. It’s a long road, and while the work is deeply rewarding, it can also be demanding — physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Helping women through every stage of life is one of the greatest privileges of my career. The work is deeply meaningful, but I’ve learned that to truly care for others, you also have to care for yourself.

My advice for anyone wanting to work in women’s health? Don’t miss out on your loved ones or the things that bring you joy. Staying grounded, balanced, and connected is what allows us, as doctors, to keep showing up with clarity, empathy, and heart.

Because when we look after our own wellbeing, we can give the very best of ourselves to our patients. 💫

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month 💜

As an OBGYN, I have walked alongside many women and families through the heartbreak of loss. What I’ve learned is that it’s never just the pregnancy that’s lost. It’s the child who could have been, the family imagined, the future dreamed of.

This grief is lifelong, significant, and too often carried in silence. At Wahini, we want to honour those journeys. The babies who are deeply loved but never held. The women who carry these stories quietly, every single day.

You are not alone. Your grief is real. Your love is everlasting.

This month, and always, may we hold space for the women and families who have walked through loss, and remind each other of the healing power of compassion and community.

At The Wahini House, art isn’t just decoration. It’s story, memory, connection.

’s vision has always been shaped by the deep respect Polynesian cultures hold for women: their roles as leaders, nurturers, and guardians, where ancestry and spirituality guide daily life.

That’s why we are so honoured to be partnering with . For decades, Pegge has painted Polynesian women with quiet strength, dignity, and spirit, qualities that echo everything Wahini stands for.

Her women, in vibrant colour and stillness, perfectly capture the essence of integrated wellness: body, mind, spirit, and community woven gently together.

This original artwork, created for The Wahini House, will live within our walls as a reminder of why we exist: a place for women to gather, to heal, and to be truly seen.

Happy International Women’s Day. I am so proud to be a female obstetrician and gynaecologist. It has definitely been a long and challenging road to make it here and I am constantly facing obstacles that are gendered related. Approximately ~ 74 % of the health force in Australia is female but the higher income positions are held by males. Only ~ 12 % of surgeons are female. A study demonstrated a tendency for doctors to refer to male surgeons (especially male doctors). Female doctors earn less than their male counterparts. There is a thought pattern that these differences will naturally improve. However, it is important we support women and change our subconscious and ancestral thought patterns to help them lean into their power. 👩🏽‍⚕️🌺💓
