Austin decided to take the tractor for a spin to move some barrels of mushroom compost onto the Ute. Sure beats lifting them!

It's so rewarding to have such beautiful flushes of oysters. We have been experimenting with room conditions including better FAE (Fresh air Exchange) and some of the flush grew as large as a dinner plate.

We believe it is important to get the most out of every block of substrate. Once the picking is done, we bring all the compost to a local farm where it goes to improving the health of the soils and is a treat for the farm animals. These cattle run like a puppy dog when they see us drive up.

We were also lucky to have a little helper unloading the compost.

We beleive in sustainable waste management and I think the chickens and cows agree it's a good idea.

Once we pick the mushrooms, our substrate blocks are taken to Ra•ba where it becomes nutrient rich compost, feed for the chooks and a snack for the cows.
