Forest Bathing - GOLD COAST

Forest Bathing - GOLD COAST Shinrin-Yoku is a Japanese term for Forest Bath. To take in the forest atmosphere, to bathe in the Are you spending way too much time on your phone or computer?

🌲Wilderness is a necessity🌲
🌿Let Nature be your therapist 🌿

Are you stressed with life and the fast paced world we live in today? Do you suffer from dis-ease? Shinrin-yoku is a term that means "taking in the forest atmosphere" or "forest bathing." πŸŒ²πŸ’š

The idea is simple: if a person simply visits a natural area and walks in a relaxed way there are calming, rejuvenating and restorative benefits to be achieved. We have always known this intuitively. Many trees give off organic compounds that support our β€œNK” (natural killer) cells that are part of our immune system's way of fighting cancer. 🌳🌿

The scientifically-proven benefits of Forest Bathing include:

β€’ Boosted immune system functioning, with an increase in the count of the body's Natural Killer (NK) cells.
β€’ Reduced blood pressure
β€’ Reduced stress
β€’ Improved mood 😁
β€’ Increased ability to focus.
β€’ Accelerated recovery from surgery or illness
β€’ Increased energy level
β€’ Improved sleep

Just as impressive are the results that we are experiencing as we make this part of our regular practice:

β€’ Deeper and clearer intuition
β€’ Increased flow of energy
β€’ Increased capacity to communicate with the land and its species
β€’ Increased flow of eros/life force
β€’ Deepening of friendships
β€’ Overall increase in sense of happiness

Opening our senses to nature also develops our intuition. We learn to contact in new ways the world around us. Our Forest Bathing Journeys can vary between 3-5 hours. Phones are to be switched off and in silent mode. Immersing ourselves in the beautiful energy of Mother Nature. Connecting to the earth, 🌍 the trees, 🌲 the water, πŸ’§the birds, πŸ¦… animals πŸ¦” and insects 🐜. We will always start with a silent mindfulness walk. It may include Qigong, Sound Healing, Meditation, Gratitude journaling, Tree hugging 🌲 πŸ€— , listening to the music of the plants 🌱 🎡 or you can just BE and have a nap. It’s time to slow down and nurture yourself in Nature. When participating in this event you are responsible for your own safety. You will be asked to sign a waiver before the journey. We look forward to seeing you in the Forest.

Can you help? πŸ™

Following the recent crazy weather, our wildlife volunteers are running low on some essential rehab items.

If you feel like doing a Spring Clean in your linen cupboard, maybe you have some of the items listed and would be happy to donate?

We have listed in the graphic the items we can use. If you have other items you think we could put to good use, please DM or email us and we can check for you.

We do ask that only the items requested are donated as we have limited storage space and our volunteers do not have the time to repurpose non-usable items or to take to landfill. We also ask that all items are CLEAN please. Whilst the linen is used for animals, it still needs to be clean for the health of both our animals but also our volunteers.

Donations will be collected from today until 15 February 2024.

Please note we are currently only collecting items from the Gold Coast, Jimboomba and Canungra areas at this time. We may organise another drive in other regions at a later date.
