Have you noticed your dog moving a little differently lately? 🐶

Sometimes the signs can be subtle — stiffness after rest, hesitation jumping into the car, reduced ease getting up, or changes in the way they move during walks or play.

At Eclipse Health and Osteopathy, canine osteopathy is approached as gentle hands-on care that looks at mobility, stiffness, tension, and compensation patterns that may be affecting comfort and movement.

Because these signs can have a range of causes, veterinary assessment is important. Canine osteopathy is not a substitute for veterinary diagnosis or treatment, and vet referral or clearance is recommended, particularly where there is pain, lameness, illness, injury, or new or worsening symptoms.

Supporting comfort and movement starts with making sure your dog gets the right care at the right time. 🐾

What might bring a dog in for osteopathic care?
Sometimes it is not dramatic. It might just be that your dog is not moving quite like themselves.

You may notice they seem stiff getting up, slower on walks, reluctant to jump, less comfortable using the stairs, or just not as free and happy in their movement as usual.

Dogs may benefit from osteopathic support for general musculoskeletal comfort, mobility and movement, particularly when they are ageing, active, or not moving with their usual ease.

If your dog seems uncomfortable, sore, unwell, or has a sudden change in movement or behaviour, a veterinary assessment is important. Vet referral is always recommended.

What do people see an Osteopath for?

A lot more than just back pain.

Many people come in thinking they need to “put up with it” — whether it is neck and shoulder tension from work, lower back pain that keeps flaring up, headaches, jaw tension, hip or pelvic discomfort, pregnancy-related aches, sporting injuries, or just feeling stiff and not moving as well as they used to.

These sorts of issues can gradually start to affect everyday life — sitting at a desk, sleeping comfortably, exercising, lifting the kids, getting through work, or simply feeling like your body is moving the way it should.

If something has been bothering you, you do not have to wait until it gets worse to have it looked at.

What tends to bother you most? Let us know in the comments below 👇

🍂 Welcome, Autumn! 🍂

The first day of autumn is here — cooler mornings, cosy afternoons… and mysteriously tighter necks from sleeping like a pretzel under the doona 😅

As the weather changes, it’s a great time to check in with your body — because stiffness, niggles and “I’m fine” shoulders tend to show up right about now.

Autumn body check-in:
✅ Neck & shoulders feeling tight?
✅ Lower back getting grumpy in the mornings?
✅ Training + sport ramping up again?
✅ Headaches popping back in?

If you’re nodding along, we’re here to help you move easier and feel better — so you can actually enjoy the season (and not just complain about the earlier sunsets).

👇 Tell us: Are you an Autumn person or do you miss summer already?

We’re open as usual — just fully booked next week (2–6 March).

If you head to our online booking page and it looks like there are no appointments available, it’s because next week is currently at capacity. If you’d like to be contacted if an earlier appointment becomes available due to a cancellation, please text “WAITLIST” + your full name + the day/time you’d prefer to 0422 474 595 and our team will be in touch if a suitable time opens up.

Otherwise, you’re welcome to book the next available appointment online here: https://eclipsehealth.com.au/bookings/

(If you think you may need follow-up visits, booking a couple ahead can help secure the times that suit you best — we can always adjust them if needed.)

He might be one of the biggest dogs we’ve ever had in clinic — I’ve genuinely seen smaller ponies 😅🐶🐴

This beautiful older Great Dane came in for a calm, hands-on canine osteopathy session focused on supporting comfortable movement and easy mobility. As our giant breeds age, those long limbs, big joints and heavy frames can place extra load through the hips, shoulders and spine. It’s common to notice them slowing down, hesitating before getting up, or being a little less keen on longer walks.

Our approach is gentle and tailored on the day, working through areas of tension and restriction to help them move as comfortably as possible.

We always recommend keeping your vet in the loop, especially with senior dogs, and we’re happy to liaise if needed.

If your older dog seems stiff, slower to rise, or just not quite themselves, you’re welcome to get in touch.

Consistency beats intensity — because the best training plan is the one you can actually stick to.

If something keeps making you skip sessions, avoid certain lifts, reduce your training load, or constantly “train around it”, it’s a good time to get it checked — before it turns into a bigger setback.

At Eclipse Health and Osteopathy, we see plenty of gym-goers who aren’t in “serious pain” — they just want to move better, train consistently, and feel confident under load. We’ll take the time to understand what you’re feeling, how it shows up in your training, and what might be contributing (training volume, technique changes, old injuries, desk work, recovery, etc.). From there, we’ll map out a practical plan that fits your goals and routine.

We’re accepting new patients and open Monday to Saturday. To book, use our online booking via eclipsehealth.com.au, or call reception on 07 5613 3505 and we’ll help you find an appointment time that suits.
