❄️ Let’s be real ice baths are very trendy at the moment and there’s loads of information about all the benefits of them and that’s great IF you’re constitutionally built for them!However there’s not enough accessible information about the detriments, especially for females so I’m here to help you make your own informed decision.
We all know cold contracts and constricts the blood vessels but what you don’t think about is that it then slows down the flow of blood and Qi. This can lead to stagnation and obstruction , especially in the reproductive area.
According to Chinese Medicine consumption of cold can lead to many gynaecological problems. This stagnation can cause painful periods, endometriosis, fertility issues and huge hormonal imbalances 😔
If swimming on your period is advised against due to your cervix being open and letting in the cold imagine what sitting in a freezing cold ice bath does. 🥶
I know there are many other benefits, so if you are going to do this just please make sure you replenish yourself afterwards. Keep the soles of your feet warm by wearing cosy socks, eat warm nourishing foods, use Moxa on your womb space or at least snuggle up with a warm heat pack. 🔥
