Give yourself the time and space to just BE
When we stop and rest, the nervous system can relax and we can come back into our body …. The head can stop its chatter and the longer we sit in the stillness our heart and soul can be heard and felt
If we struggle to let go of distractions it’s because we are avoiding a feeling or stuck in a cycle of hyper arousal… sometimes we are addicted to the rollercoaster ride of pain and escapism
Coming back into the body can be a very challenging journey, but a very rewarding one
Some of the ways we can overcome these obstacles to resting in our true nature :
🌿 Switch off all electronic distractions
🌿 slow the exhale breathe, bring the inhales down lower into your body
🌿 do gentle stretching like hatha yoga or tai chi/qi gong , connect to your breath soften onto your body
🌿 sit in nature, listen feel and connect using your sensory,
🌿 slow down when you eat and drink , taste the food , breath between each mouthful , sip the tea coffee water , really notice its taste , aroma and sensation
🌿 have a slow rejuvenation massage - no deep tissue - let the body unravel and heal itself
🌿 sit in stillness with a loved one , not needed to talk or do - just notice the breathe and feel your presence
🌿 remember to smile inwardly to yourself and love you
