online or face to face, equine assisted & natured based therapy Rein Changer is situated near Canungra SE, QLD within an easy reach of the Gold Coast, Northern NSW and Brisbane and located at gorgeous Ricinda Ranch Quarter Horse Stud. We offer a very unique opportunity and welcome clients to experience Equine Assisted Therapy/ Learning within our herd of beautiful caring mares and foals. Our herd has been an integral and supportive part of our lives for many years and has assisted us to not only overcome life’s challenges but to thrive in the valuable skills developed in their wake. Horses are beautiful, sensitive and intelligent animals and often evoke feelings and emotions we previously had little awareness of thus allowing us to see, feel and reach and develop areas within us. By focusing on developing and strengthen our supports and resources we are able to build the skills required for life’s challenges. The horses within our herd are calm, respectful, happy, well adjusted and very connected with people. We view them as part of our family and we are viewed as part of their herd and this is very evident in the response from them in the warm caring manner they express when they see us. Horses live in the present moment, in awareness and authentic contact, when living in a herd environment. These capacities are profoundly important for human health and wellness – the capacity to live in the present, be aware and create and maintain healthy, honest and creative relationships

At Rein Changer we also are able to bring years of experience working with people and staff experiencing significant life/ professional events to develop a wide range of skills to support them following these events. Particular focus areas are working with clients or staff supporting clients, with issues on safety, trauma, domestic violence and working with women/ and adolescents. Our main focus is supporting client’s to discover their true self by exploring within a safe and nurturing environment areas of social-emotional development, leadership, relationships, self-awareness, healing, personal development, strengthening supports, resources and growth and change. Our services are individually modeled to meet the specific needs of each client and are offered on a one to one level with a equine co-facilitator of client choice (horse partner). We also offer programs for organistaions, businesses and work related goals on a broad range of areas such as developing high performance teams, working effectively in team, developing skills for rapidly changing / high risk environments (Emergency Service Personal, Education, Health Services, Human Related Services), leadership, emotional intelligence, contact, effective relationship building and awareness of specific target groups and communication skills.

If your wanting to come an listern to a very inspiring session then DONT miss this morning tea. going to be awesome

Super excited to share our FIRST I AM Morning Tea for 2026 with our incredible Practitioner, Lou Friday the 30th of January at 10am to 11am. Book your Ticket $10 in the link in Facebook events or Website. 🤸🙏💛

With so much nutrition and wellness information out there, it’s no wonder so many of us feel confused about how to truly care for our bodies. Many of us have been impacted by years of diet mentality and weight cycling, leading to constant thoughts and sometimes obsessions about losing weight or fixing our bodies.

When does it ever stop? The beautiful truth is: there is another way.

Healing your relationship with food and your body is possible without another meal plan, without the latest wellness trend, without “starting again on Monday,” and without the shame and guilt that so often follows.

Join I AM Healing practitioner Lou Heta, a dietitian of 20 years and founder of , for a nourishing morning tea as she gently shares how reconnecting with your body and understanding your personal body image timeline can support freedom from diet culture and body shame.

In this session, you’ll explore:
• How the non-diet approach and Health At Every Size® model are used in dietetic counselling and are supported by evidence to achieve positive health outcomes

• Gaining a deeper understanding of yourself through the body image timeline, connecting life events and relationships with current beliefs around food and body image

• Mindful eating, including a gentle, guided mindful eating activity to help you reconnect with your body’s natural wisdom and cues

Sonia, founder of I AM Healing Gifts, will also share her personal experience of working with Lou and the impact it has had on her relationship with food and her body.

With Love the I AM Team 🌙

Cognitive flexibility is the mental ability to switch between thinking about two or more concepts, adapt behaviors to new, changing, or unexpected situations, and consider multiple perspectives simultaneously. It is a core executive function that enhances problem-solving, creativity, and resilience to stress.

Key Aspects of Cognitive Flexibility:

Task Switching/Shifting: The capability to disengage from one task or mental set and efficiently move to another.

Adaptability: Adjusting strategies when faced with new information, unexpected obstacles, or environmental changes.

Perspective Taking: The capacity to consider problems from different viewpoints (thinking "outside the box").

Contextual Regulation: Modifying thoughts and actions based on the specific, often changing, context.

Why It Matters:

Better Outcomes: It is associated with higher creativity, improved reading abilities in children, and better quality of life in older adults.
Mental Health & Resilience: It helps individuals cope with stress and unexpected life events.

Deficits: Low cognitive flexibility (cognitive rigidity) can make problem-solving difficult and is often associated with conditions like ADHD, autism, or anxiety.

Examples in Daily Life:
Changing your route to work due to unexpected traffic.

Switching from a professional mindset to a personal one after work.

Adapting a project plan when key data or resources change.

Cognitive flexibility can be improved through training that promotes, such as changing daily routines, playing strategy games with shifting rules, or practicing viewing scenarios from multiple viewpoints.

If your wanting to build more cognitive flexibilty there are a range of ways we can work together to build this

Feeling off? Your reproductive cycle could be the reason. Hormone changes across the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause shift brain chemistry—affecting mood, memory, stress responses, and how you experience reward. These natural changes can cause mood swings, brain fog, anxiety, low motivation, sleep problems, and changes in appetite or libido.

How this can impact mental health

Mood: worsening depression or anxiety, PMDD-like symptoms, or new symptoms in pregnancy/postpartum/menopause

Cognition: “brain fog,” poor concentration, memory lapses
Stress & reward: heightened stress sensitivity, reduced pleasure or motivation

Sleep & energy: insomnia or fatigue that worsens thinking and moo

Relationships & function: irritability, low libido, or fatigue can strain work and relationship

What can help

Track symptoms: note timing, severity, sleep, and triggers to spot patterns

Routine: prioritize regular sleep, movement, and consistent meals
Exercise & nutrition: moderate exercise, balanced diet, limit alcohol/caffeine

Stress tools: mindfulness, breathing exercises, short daily relaxation practices

Social support: talk with friends, family, or support groups—don’t isolate

Professional care: psychotherapy, perinatal mental health specialists, or counseling

Medications & hormone options: SSRIs or hormone treatments may help—discuss with a clinician

Safety: seek immediate help for severe mood changes, intrusive thoughts, or suicidal ideation

Plan ahead: for predictable cycle symptoms, schedule lighter responsibilities during vulnerable times

I specialize in reproductive-lifespan mental health—if you’d like support, assessments, or coping strategies tailored to your cycle, pregnancy/postpartum, or menopause, please reach out. You’re not alone, and help is available. Share to help others understand and find support.

Why Prioritize Reproductive Mental Health During Puberty?

I think we often dont think we need psychotherapeutic support until we have concerns and issues, many of which had been happening for a long time.

Part of the work I do with people is teaching them skills, giving them tools and resources which assists them greatly through their journey in life.

Making sure as they transition from childhood into young adulthood as smoothly as they can with as much guidance is essential.

As a parent of 6 now adult kids I know too well that challenge. Having an experienced & knowledgeable therapist that really get it makes much such a big difference.

Reproductive mental health during puberty matters — it’s the emotional side of the shift from childhood to reproductive maturity.

Hormonal surges (estrogen, progesterone, testosterone) can trigger mood and behavior changes that increase risk for anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues — and about half of mental health disorders start by age 14.

Early puberty raises risks of isolation, depression, self-harm, and substance use — early support can make a big difference.

Addressing reproductive health reduces chances of unplanned teen pregnancy and STIs, protecting long-term wellbeing.

Support builds coping skills, self-esteem, and healthier adult relationships.

With the “thinking brain” still developing into the mid-20s, mental health care offers a crucial social scaffold for safer decision-making.

Together lets prioritize compassionate, early support for young people navigating puberty

🌟 Break Through the Terror Barrier! 🌟

Are you feeling held back by fear, doubt, or resistance while trying to make significant changes in your life? You’re not alone! The “Terror Barrier” is that invisible wall we all face, a protective mechanism of our subconscious that tries to keep us safe from the unknown.

🔍 What is it?

An Invisible Wall: A boundary between where you are and where you want to be.
Fear of the Unknown: It resists anything outside your comfort zone, creating feelings of anxiety or procrastination.
💡 Common Manifestations:

Procrastination
Self-doubt
Urges to quit
Distractions
✨ Examples of Facing the Terror Barrier:

Starting a new job
Public speaking
Pursuing big dreams
Prioritizing your own needs in a relationship
🚀 How to Break Through:

Recognize It: Understand that fear is a natural part of growth.
Act Despite Fear: Choose courage over comfort!
Shift Focus: Help others and watch your own fear diminish.
Use Intelligent Action: Respond to fear with strategic steps.
Reframe Beliefs: Challenge those negative thoughts that hold you back.
💪 Embrace your journey and confront the Terror Barrier head-on! Your desired future awaits just beyond that wall.
