Do you ever feel like you fold forward when you squat?

This is really common.

One of the cues I often give clients is:

ā€œSit into your hips.ā€

Instead of dropping straight down or leaning forward, think about sitting your hips back and down. Almost like you’re lowering into a chair.

This helps:
• engage the hips
• keep the chest more upright
• create a stronger, more stable squat

Small cues like this can make a big difference to how a movement feels.

These are the kinds of small technique tweaks we often work on during strength sessions at MelonXfitness.

That ache in your lower back might be more than just tight muscles.

It could be hormonal….

During your cycle (or through perimenopause), your body releases hormone-like chemicals called prostaglandins.

These help the uterus contract but when produced in excess, they can also trigger inflammation and cramping in your lower back, hips, and thighs, especially if there’s an existing weakness or tension in the area.

Supporting your body through these hormonal shifts can make a huge difference.
