🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎀
This provides an opportunity for us all to focus on breast cancer and its impact on those affected by the disease in our community.

Finding breast cancer early provides the best chance of surviving the disease. Remember you don’t need to be an expert or use a special technique to check your breasts.

Changes to look for include:
• a new lump or lumpiness, especially if it's only in one breast
• a change in the size or shape of your breast
• a change to the ni**le, such as crusting, ulcer, redness or inversion
• a ni**le discharge that occurs without squeezing
• a change in the skin of your breast such as redness or dimpling
• an unusual pain that doesn't go away.

When did you last have your heart health checked?

The Heart Foundation is thrilled by announcement of a three-year extension to Medicare Heart Health Checks by the Australian Government, securing funding through to 30 June 2028.

This vital program - first introduced in 2019 following strong advocacy by the Heart Foundation and the broader heart health sector - has already led to over 870,000 Australians receiving a Heart Health Check.

The Heart Health Check is a 20-minute appointment with a GP to assess a person’s risk of heart attack or stroke and to support early, proactive steps to reduce risk factors like high cholesterol and high blood pressure.

We would like to introduce Dr Robyn Wing to our practice. Dr Robyn enjoys practising in all areas of medicine and has a special interest in women's health, antenatal care, sexual health and preventative health.

In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, hiking, travelling and trying new restaurants with friends and family.

Dr Robyn is currently available on Tuesdays and Thursdays and charges private fees.

Her Special Interests include women’s health, antenatal care,
sexual health, medical termination of pregnancy, iron infusion
and preventative health.
