Heavy hearts today for Victoria Police.

Two brave officers were shot and killed in the line of duty this morning in Porepunkah while serving a warrant. A third officer was seriously wounded and is now in surgery, in stable condition.

These officers went out that morning knowing the risks—and paid the ultimate price to keep our communities safe. That kind of courage and sacrifice cannot be overstated.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to their families, partners, children, friends, and their brothers and sisters in blue.

Let’s hold tight to our “thin blue line,” honoring those who protect us, remembering the ones we’ve lost, and praying for the swift recovery of the injured officer. May the memory of these two heroes forever remind us of the daily cost of safety—and the true meaning of service.

Rest easy. We will never forget.
