Mindset is everything.
I recently started writing down the nice unexpected or unplanned random things that happen to me every day.
It’s the little things, like I was in my car writing an email on my phone and when I looked up a whole flock of cockatoos had landed next to my car on the grass, there must have been more than 50 of them. I watched them for a while then suddenly they all flew off into the near by trees.

I just commented on a community post to help with anxiety in children and thought I’d make a post here as some of you might know someone that this could benefit.

Here are a few practical tips that can help your child manage anxiety:

1. Create a Calm Routine

Kids feel safer when life is predictable. Having a regular morning and bedtime routine can reduce stress. Eg, a calm bedtime ritual like bath, story, breathing exercise, lights out gives their body and mind the signal that everything is safe and okay.

2. Teach “Balloon Breathing”

Make breathing fun by turning it into a game. Tell your child to imagine blowing up a big balloon in their belly:
• Inhale slowly through the nose, filling their tummy like a balloon.
• Hold for a count of 2.
• Exhale slowly through the mouth, letting the balloon deflate.
Doing this three times when they feel anxious helps calm the nervous system.

3. Use a Worry Box or Notebook

Give them a little box or notebook where they can “put their worries.” They can write or draw what’s bothering them, then close the box or shut the book. This gives their brain permission to let the worry go, knowing it’s “kept safe” somewhere.

🛼 Back on Wheels, But Not the Same… And That’s Okay 💪✨

A few months ago I smashed my elbow and not just a little knock. Plates. Screws. Pain. Stiffness. Setbacks.
I went from flying around the skatepark to barely lifting a cup.

The physical healing was one thing…
But the real challenge?
👉 Getting my confidence back.
👉 Trusting my body again.
👉 Facing the fear that crept in every time I stood at the top of a ramp.

I’ve been here before, many times. As an athlete, as a coach, and now as someone helping others push through fear with hypnotherapy.
I know how loud that fear voice can be…
And I also know how to quiet it and come back stronger.

I help people retrain their minds, rebuild trust in themselves, and move from fear to flow, whether it’s in sport, in life, or after injury.

I’m not skating like I used to yet…
