Embarking on a fertility journey?
✨ Governing Vessel 1 (GV1), located at the base of the coccyx, is considered vital for fertility and sexual function in traditional Chinese medicine. It is the “Meeting of Yin” point, whereby the Conception Vessel and Governing Vessel converge.

✨ Activating GV1 through massage or acupuncture is believed to enhance fertility by balancing the body’s energy and optimizing reproductive organs’ function. Imagine it as the epicenter of a swirling vortex of life energy, known as Qi, where the dance between yin and yang ignites the spark of creation within.

✨ GV1 massage may then improve sexual function by harmonizing Qi flow in the area, addressing issues like menstrual irregularities and increasing sexual vitality.

✨ GV1 is a key point in womb hara massage, gently unraveling tension and stagnation accumulated in this region to help enhance your natural state of fertility. While at first you may think it’s a little strange, gentle over this area releases so much that has been held here, especially if you have taken quite a few falls on your sacrum/tailbone over the years.

Over the last few weeks I’ve been dreaming of bottle brush flowers ~ and everyday as they bloom I’ve had a sense of needing to connect with them.

Working with bush flower essences, I immediately knew I was moving through a transition, needing support with some changes in cycles happening in my life.
To be honest, I haven’t really wanted to look at it yet but today as I walked by a blooming bush I felt it call out to me. So I sat down with my cards an created an intuitive bush flower blend, already feeling so supported.

I use bottlebrush in a lot of my pregnancy blends to ease the transition of maiden - mother. This goes for mothers who have more than one child and transitioning to two or three etc.

Here are some other beautiful ways bottle brush supports ✨

~ calming anxiety
~ fosters mother-child bonding
~ navigating major life changes
~ breaking free of harmful/disruptive habits
~ moving on from past relationships
~ healing mother wounds
~ acceptance of change
~ fertility
~ abundance
~ joy
~ laughter

Pt 1 🌼 Preventing postpartum mood disorders ~ so based on my previous post talking about my experience, here’s what I would change/do differently next time.

- Reach out for support: I had many friends and family who would have helped if I had asked, but because of the shame and embarrassment, I either isolated myself from them, or kept thoughts to myself. So if you are about to have a baby, please have a village set up that you feel safe to lean on. And if you do find yourself experiencing anxiety, depression or rage - seek professional support. This is something I did in time and it felt so good for my mental health!

- Nutrient dense meals focused on healthy fats and meat. I was vegan until recently (aside from the occasional seafood here and then, worst vegan, I know 😂). I now eat intuitively, and this often includes meat/ghee and will continue to do so for as long as my body needs. I absolutely attribute this to my improved health mentally and physically. Everyone is different, and if you feel amazing on a plant-based diet, even when postpartum and breastfeeding, then wonderful!

- More postpartum massages with warming, grounding oils. Enough said.

- Get off google. Google is not your friend. Trust your knowing. Trust the wisdom you hold as a mother, if it is something you truly need to be worried about, your intuition will tell you, and constantly googling things when you’re obsessively concerned about your baby can be a sign of anxiety! Something to be aware of.

I’ll do another part to this next, as there’s quite a few things 🤍🤍

🌹🌼🌺🌸🌷

Yoni steaming has its origins in traditional healing practices, particularly in various cultures around the world. It is an ancient practice, and has been used for centuries as a holistic approach to women’s health. The practice is deeply rooted in herbal medicine and is believed to have originated in Africa, Asia, and Central America.

In the Philippines, the practice of yoni steaming may be referred to as ‘suob’ which is simply steam therapy/inhalation. Like other cultures, this involves the use of a combination of herbs and steam to support reproductive health. It is often used in the weeks following childbirth alongside massage, as herbal steam is believed to have properties that aid in toning and revitalising the reproductive organs.

While specific herbs used for Suob may vary regionally, common ingredients include guava leaves, among other indigenous plants known for their healing properties. Although folk medicine practices have been greatly replaced with western medicine, some families still pass down the knowledge of this beautiful healing modality.

Birth is a remembering

It begs of us to go inward
Deeper, deeper - into our bodies
Pushing us out of the thinking mind
Which has no place in birth
And when we resist this
We cannot let go
We cannot trust or surrender
And move into the state of consciousness required of us to birth life
A raw, primal state
That promises we will meet with all of our edges
All of our fears - laid out for us to witness
To hold…to transform
And move through
Remembering the wisdom of our bodies

In these sessions I work intuitively using different energetic healing modalities to clear blockages and stagnant energy held within the body. These blockages often manifest in physical form, presenting as various ailments such as headaches, struggle with fertility, period pain and more. While subtle and gentle, the results are often powerful shifts in the mind and body. I may use either a hands-off or hands-on approach, as well as incorporate sound healing, crystal healing, Rebozo wrapping, vocal toning and more.

These sessions connect you with your own innate healing energy - I hold space for you to feel safe enough to let go, move inward, and connect with this energy.

This can help ease anxiety and stress, helping the body in feeling more balanced and grounded, and is amazing in supporting women whether on a fertility journey ~ especially during the 2 week wait, pregnancy or just needing some TLC.

Postpartum rage/anxiety/depression ~ my journey.
(*TW: mentions su!cidal ideation)

It’s not often spoken about, and I can honestly say I didn’t know much until it happened to me. PP rage is a PP mood/anxiety disorder, and can be a symptom of PP depression. It is often a sign of unmet needs, or may also be unexpressed grief that has manifested into anger. Or both. It can be brought on by sleep deprivation, identity shifts and I’d also go on to say lack of nutrition.

I suppose one reason it isn’t spoken about is the shame that comes with it. I know personally, I had episodes where my whole body would fill with anger and I’d explode. I’d then feel embarrassed with myself, confused at how I could feel this way when I was holding my baby.

I remember the first few months-year of postpartum by feelings, not so much memories. I remember feeling so disconnected - from friends, my partner and family, my baby, but most of all myself. I struggled with conversation, what to talk about, how to talk. I felt anxious all the time and a deep sense of grief that surfaced constantly.

At its worst, I suffered from su!cidal ideation - it’s not that I wanted to end my life, I never would have acted on it, but I thought a lot about how much easier things would be if I did, and for a period had vivid and very realistic dreams of doing so. I felt completely isolated and started experiencing anxiety attacks. Honestly, it’s not until recently that a lot of this has dissipated. I still occasionally have a rare moment of pp rage - most often triggered by sleep deprivation.

So what’s the purpose of this post? Firstly, if you relate, you’re not alone. This unfortunately happens to many women postpartum. When we speak to these things and give them the awareness needed, others may also be inclined to speak up and seek support.

Second - what would I change next time? Unfortunately this won’t fit here, so I have another post coming on what I would change/do next time.

If you’ve made it this far, and you’re experiencing it or have before, you’re not alone. Please ask for help if you need it, or message me, I’m here for you 🤍
