Setbacks can happen, my body is certainly getting used to more “volume” work versus short bouts of high intensity work and heavy lifting (which I’ve basically done since I was 12 haha), but I think it’s important to show that in many cases, you just need to take the foot off the accelerator, then push again once you’ve resolved the pain issues, not ignore the pain and keep pushing.

Quite literally what I do for people when it comes to injury rehab.

A nice quote that I personally find motivating to take action, whether it be health, fitness or life in general.

Every single one of us are special, and we are capable of doing amazing things in this life.

We just need to take actions daily, and consistently.

This will bring us one step closer to our true potential 💪🏼😁

Small steps go a long way… in this case, progressive overload.

It’s awesome how our bodies can adapt to the environment in which we place it. For example, if I attempted this when I first ever started lifting at age 12, I wouldn’t have even been able to un-rack the thing.

But as your nervous system gets better at sending impulses to the muscles, the muscles and tendons get stronger, and your bones become more dense, you will achieve significant feats over time.

This goes for all types of fitness also!

It’s not just strength movements. Want to run a marathon and don’t have any injuries?

Slowly build up over time, and BOOM!

42.2km just like that (me not describing the hard training and discipline in detail 😅) but the rule still stand true.

So when you’re in doubt if you can achieve something, just remember… we all started somewhere small 😁

So you must be wondering… why am I posting this on a rehab page? 😅

2 reasons:

1. Isn’t he adorable 🥰

2. Scientific research has shown that owning and petting a dog can lower your blood pressure on average by up to 10 percent!

So, being the middle of the work week, I’m hoping seeing this image at least gives you a small sense of calm and joy, which has also been shown to help with pain levels and speed up recovery.
