Night hits… and suddenly your brain won’t switch off.

A lot of people think they’re “bad sleepers”…

But what’s actually happening is this:

Their nervous system never fully switches off.

Anxiety keeps the body in a heightened state of alertness, even during sleep. That means less deep sleep, more interruptions, and waking up feeling exhausted.

If you’re constantly tired despite getting “enough” hours, it’s worth looking deeper than just sleep habits.

The body might still be holding onto stress.

Anxious attachment is almost always a childhood wound.

Your mind and nervous system remembering a time when love or connection didn’t feel safe or deserved. Maybe it was inconsistent. One day it felt safe and the next it felt like it had to be earned.

The over whelm that an anxious attachment causes can affect every area of your life from intimate relationships, your relationship with your kids, friendships and even professional relationships.

Teaching your mind and nervous system that love is safe is key to healing. No amount of CBT or psychology will truly help you heal and feel safe again.

Most people think drinking too much is a willpower issue… but for a lot of people, it’s actually an anxiety issue.

When your nervous system is constantly on edge, your brain looks for the fastest way to feel relief. And alcohol works — it calms you down, takes the edge off, and gives you a break from your thoughts.

But the relief is temporary.

Because the next day, your anxiety comes back stronger. Your sleep is worse, your body is more stressed, and suddenly you need another drink just to feel normal again.

That’s how the cycle forms:
Anxiety → Drinking → Relief → Worse Anxiety → Repeat

If you’re stuck in that loop, it’s not because you’re weak — it’s because your brain has learned a pattern.

Real change starts when you stop just focusing on the drinking… and start calming the nervous system underneath it.
