👣 What Your Walking Style Says About Your Feet

Ever noticed how your shoes wear down more on one side than the other? That’s your walking pattern — or gait — telling a story.

How you walk affects everything from your arches to your knees and hips. Here are the three most common gait types:

1️⃣ Neutral: Your feet roll naturally with each step — this is ideal for even weight distribution.
2️⃣ Overpronation: Your feet roll inwards too much, often linked to flat feet or tired arches.
3️⃣ Underpronation (Supination): Your feet roll outwards, which can lead to ankle or knee strain.

A simple gait assessment with a podiatrist can help spot imbalances and prevent pain before it starts.

Our team travels across the Gold Coast and Northern NSW, helping patients walk more comfortably every day 👟

🦶 Flat Feet Are More Common Than You Think

Most people don’t think twice about their arches… until their feet start to ache.

Flat feet can lead to tired legs, sore heels, and even knee or back pain over time. 👟

If you’ve noticed your ankles rolling in or your shoes wearing unevenly, it might be time for a check-up.

Our podiatrists across the Gold Coast and Northern NSW can assess your arches and help you find the right support to stay active and pain-free. 💙

💙 Diabetes & Foot Health: What You Should Know

Diabetes can affect the feet in ways you might not expect.
Changes in circulation and nerve health can make it harder to feel or heal from small injuries meaning that even a tiny blister can become a bigger concern if left unnoticed.

Here’s how you can protect your feet:
🦶 Check your feet daily for cuts, redness, or swelling
🧦 Keep your feet clean and dry
👟 Choose well-fitting, supportive footwear
📅 Book regular podiatry check-ups - prevention is key

Healthy feet mean more freedom to move, stay active, and enjoy life comfortably.
Take a moment today to check in with your feet 💙

👟 Top 5 Ways to Keep Kids Feet Healthy Over the School Holidays

As the holidays begin, kids are running, climbing and exploring from morning till night but with all that activity, their feet can start to feel the strain.

Here are a few simple ways to keep growing feet happy and healthy this summer:
1️⃣ Check shoe fit and replace worn-out pairs
2️⃣ Encourage safe barefoot play on grass or sand
3️⃣ Support growth spurts with stretching and good shoes
4️⃣ Keep feet clean, dry and protected from infection
5️⃣ Watch for limping or complaints of “tired legs”

Healthy feet mean active, confident kids who can make the most of their summer adventures ☀️

🦶 Corns & Calluses — more than just hard skin

They might not seem like a big deal, but corns and calluses can become painful and make walking uncomfortable. They form when your skin tries to protect itself from friction or pressure often from footwear or the way you walk.

A podiatrist can safely remove them and help prevent them from coming back, keeping your feet comfortable and pain-free 💙

🦶 Ingrown Toenails – What You Need to Know

An ingrown toenail happens when the edge of the nail grows into the surrounding skin. It can cause pain, redness, swelling and sometimes even infection.

The common culprits?
👟 Tight shoes
✂️ Cutting nails too short or curved
⚡ Nail trauma

The good news: podiatrists can treat ingrown toenails safely and effectively. Don’t try to fix it yourself. Early care means faster relief and fewer complications.
