When a dancer gets injured, there’s often a silver lining:
they return stronger, smarter, and more body-aware.
Why?
Because rehab creates consistency.
It forces education.
And it finally gives the dancer a team around them.
As a physiotherapist who went to university specifically to work with dancers, here’s what I want you to hear:
Don’t wait to be injured.
You don’t need pain to justify support.
You don’t need time off to build strength.
And you don’t need a setback to learn how your body actually works.
If you, your dancer or student want to:
• improve performance
• understand their body better
• reduce injury risk
• train smarter, not harder
I’m here for that part of the journey too.
The truth is, injury brings motivation that’s hard to replicate.
The real question is: how proactive are you willing to be before you’re forced to be?
These photos are from a recent in-studio workshop where I had the pleasure of conducting mini assessments alongside a conditioning session for a small group of dancers. This kind of work creates real change: stronger foundations, better body awareness, and fewer interruptions to training.
