**🌪️⚠️ Weather Update – Lifetime Therapy Services Ormeau ⚠️🌪️**

Hey everyone, just a quick update! Due to the cyclone, we’ll be **closed this Thursday & Friday** to keep our clients and team safe.

Right now, we’re **planning to be open on Saturday**, but we’ll be keeping an eye on the weather 🌧️. If anything changes, we’ll be in touch with those affected.

Where indicated, occupational therapists can be employed within the health care team to assess and assist children and teens with CP.

An initial assessment may include evaluating motor skills, sensory processing, and cognitive abilities. This is important as the occupational therapist can establish areas they may require a helping hand. Together, the occupational therapist, the individual and the family work collaboratively to create meaningful goals addressing these areas.

Overall, the core purpose of goal setting is to re-gain, create or broaden independence.

No need to stretch the budget for your osteopathic exercises!

Nigel may recommend specific exercises for certain injuries or to reduce weaknesses identified during the assessment. If he feels resistance is required, Nigel will provide the resistance band free of charge.

Osteopathy for sporting knee-ds!

Osteopaths treat weekend warriors of all ages! This includes children who sustain injuries, such as during weekend sport e.g. a shoulder injury, a pulled muscle, or knee pain.

These injuries can be acute/new or chronic. In either case, osteopaths are qualified to diagnose, treat and provide individualised advice for childhood musculoskeletal injuries of the body.

Did you know Nigel, our osteopath, is trained to utilise dry needling in clinic?

Dry needling involves inserting fine acupuncture needles into the muscle in a particular point, often called a 'trigger point'.
