Step into REST
It’s sometimes easier to exercise rather than allocate time to complete rest. But without rest our body cannot heal.

If our bodies work best when we are fully rested and healed then the obvious result will be optimal function of all@things including your metabolism.

I know it sounds silly saying my methodology is a REST BASED weight loss approach but sometimes going the opposite direction works especially when your body needing compassion and love rather than a good old flogging.

Ask yourself does your body need to be pushed or does it need some rest and restoration.

Here on our annual Wellness retreat in Koh Samui our lesson and our time here is y space for rest.

The easiest way to think of food for weight loss in our age is building a plate based on the protein not the grain

When you start with a grain first your already too high carb and that means it’s harder for your compromised hormone pathways over 40 to burn that puppy up. So it gets stored as fat around our bellies.

Instead. Think what protein you will use eg; Chicken, beef, seafood …. And then what veggies or salad would go with it.

You don’t need grains. All your Fibre comes from vegetables and fruits. Grains are empty calories and carry little if any nutrients compared to vegetables and fruits.

Chicken Curry and Steamed Veggies - NO RICE.

Simple. Filling. Satisfying and most important it’s not going to turn into stored fat

Don’t worry about how many calories are in a meal worry about how many carbs are in your meal and you’ll find it’s so much easier to eat more and feel fuller and loose weight.

The easiest thing you can do for maximum weightloss is getting your bed early.

I know you night owls stay up watching your fav shows thinking it’s the only time you have for yourself.

Sleep is the time for yourself - not Love Island or some other useless show that I guarantee is not helping your metabolism

In my podcast episode 3 on Spotify and YouTube I talk about the hours before midnight being more important than the hours after midnight for getting your 8 hours in.

We want to work with our hormones not against them. So sleep when your body is primarily designed for sleep and allow it to shut down and do its nightly routine of fixing things so your in top shape.

Sleep is a luxury and it’s free. You just have to commit to it. I go to bed at 8:30 every night. I know that sounds strange for some just finishing dinner. But by moving my eating and sleeping windows I was able to increase my metabolic performance.

My PROUDEST moments are seeing realisations from women like this 🙏🏻.

No more putting themselves last - actually carving out time for them. It's not hours they need just minutes, yet as mothers even minutes can pushed aside when someone calls.

I'm all about empowering women to set some 'little' boundaries for themselves and get really all they want - to feel energetic and confident.
