👁️ A Small Test That Can Protect Your Vision 👁️

As part of World Glaucoma Week, we’re sharing why something as simple as measuring eye pressure can be an important step in protecting your vision.

In this video, Alicia explains why eye pressure matters. If the pressure inside the eye is too high, it may be a sign that further testing is needed, as it can sometimes be associated with conditions such as glaucoma.

The important thing to know is that glaucoma often develops without noticeable symptoms in the early stages, which is why routine eye examinations and pressure checks are so valuable.

Our Story

Gold Coast independent optometrist Eyecare Plus Mermaid Beach is a locally owned, family focused and professional optometry practice. We proudly operate a full scope optometry practice that focuses on comprehensive eye examinations for the whole family.

At Eyecare Plus Mermaid Beach we pride ourselves on excellent customer service and strive to develop a clear understanding of our patient’s needs and wants, so that when it comes to choosing a new pair of glasses they are able to leave feeling very happy about their purchase and excited to receive their new glasses. Our newly updated premises compromises of two consulting rooms, pre-test room, dispensing Nat for alterations and repairs and an extensive frame display area showcasing over 400 spectacle frames and 200 sunglasses. You will be sure to find just the one you’ve been searching for.

Providing quality eyecare and eyeware is very important to us. We offer all testing needed to check and care for your eyes, from a standard test through to macular degeneration and diabetes checks. We have invested in specialised technology to diagnose eye disease, such as OPTOS ultra wide digital retinal imaging, Optical Coherence Tomography, Corneal Topography and computerised Visual Fields. We are also able to refer patients to local ophthalmologists when needed.

As we are not a part of a large chain, it means we are free to offer a vast selection of unique and beautiful frames and sunglasses from the conservative to the quirky. There are a range of brands, styles and pricing options available to choose from in our store. We provide follow up service and can adjust your glasses when needed. When you buy glasses from us we provide you with a microfibre cleaning cloth and a bottle of lens cleaner so you can care for your glasses at home. We also offer a free refill on the bottle of lens cleaner. Simply come back and visit us in store and we’ll happily refill it for you!
