A participant with complex behaviors was able to experience high intensity care that not only kept them safe but empowered them to build independence and access their community meaningfully.
The participant’s family was under immense stress and hesitant to engage with service providers after past experiences had left lasting emotional scars.
They needed a provider who would not only understand the participant’s complex needs, but also build trust through in depth preparation and personalised care.
We made a conscious decision to lead with dignity, responsiveness, and deep preparation by building trust through transparent communication, individualised care, and real accountability.
We aligned closely with the family, the behavior support plan, and the participant’s strengths, creating a foundation of safety, clarity, and collaboration.
As a result, the participant completed essential personal care routines and safely accessed the community; something previously unimaginable with unfamiliar support in unfamiliar environments.
The family felt peace of mind for the first time in a long time, knowing they had real-time clarity, open communication (even when near miss or incidents arise), and a true partner in planning their child’s future due to our ongoing involvement after the service completion for requested communication with family and allied health professionals.
Today, we offer personalised, high intensity Supported Independent Living services for individuals with complex behaviors with our SDA connections.
We intentionally partner with families to understand the person behind the plan, gathering meaningful insights from Allied Health professionals to deliver support that is individualised, trust based, and truly effective.
