Huge shout out to my friend Paul Anderson from The Bait Shop for helping out this lovely couple on holiday here. They had two ocean charters cancelled (it happens) so he called me. I popped around to the shop, picked them up and off we went. First stop Jacobs Well, a bit windy but still caught 5 bream a two moses perch, sorry, no pics. Then off to the Spit for more bream. Was a lovely morning with a very grateful, generous and kind couple. We even stopped and they shouted me a very nice breakfast. Thank you both for the last minute booking 👍

Sorry about the late post Jack. Another fantastic one on one session with a super nice client, Jack. Again there was lots of laughing, stories, food and fish. Was a great little tally including a nice Snapper, 11 bream, some legal, most not, and for good measure, a nice flounder. We have plans next time to do some surf casting off the beach, looking forward to it 👍 As usual l give all clients the opportunity to take home legal sized catches and more often than not, like Jack, he was happy to release everything he caught, well done.

Check out the brothers Danley and Cody Nukunuku, all the way from Gizzy (Gisborne, NZ) via Waiouru. After we changed our whakapapa (genealogy) we were straight into getting rods and lines sorted. The boys were cool as, we laughed heaps, listened Kiwi music and together caught lots of fish. Thanks boys for a great afternoon

What a session, bigger group than usual today, awesome to see three dads bring their three sons for a morning of fishing. Was a beautiful day, bit of cloud cover a nice breeze and a great tide.
Everyone would have caught fish but Brendon let his son Koa land every fish, as did Filip for his son Noah. Mark on the other hand balanced things out by landing some as well as his son Bennett. All were every grateful for the tips & hints, and as usual all fish in the beginning were caught on my gear then adter adjustments were made to all of their rods, they were all catching. Huge shout out to one of the kind locals who took the time to instruct everyone on how to cast net, thank you 🙏
