Spots are almost gone for Term 4 in our Horse Whispering Youth Program (ages 10–17, including NDIS participants).

This isn’t just time with horses — it’s about living and learning Respect, Responsibility and Resilience in a supportive, nature-based setting.

Respect → for self, others, animals and community
Responsibility → owning choices and actions
Resilience → managing emotions, handling setbacks and making constructive choices

Kids Country September holiday programs!

Based centrally in Guanaba on the shallow bends of the Coomera River in the Gold Coast, Connect and Thrive Therapeutic Services are running holiday programs during week 1 to suit everyone!

Designed to connect to nature, the animals, horsemanship groundwork and building new friendships whilst having fun doing so.

Ages: 6 to 12
Cost: $169 per day
Dates available: Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd of September
Time: 9am – 4pm

What’s Included:
Horsemanship/Liberty groundwork
Farm animal care
Adventure-based activities such as; Bush walk, building huts and much more
Swim in the river
Morning tea, Lunch, Afternoon tea
Team bonding activities

We sadly said goodbye to our lovely admin Cynthia. She has unfortunately moved away from the Gold Coast area. She spent the previous week with Di supporting her to learn our processes. Some of you may have met Di already through her amazing work with the Horse Whispering Youth Program. We will miss Cynthia and wish her all the best in her next adventure and we welcome Di into the Connect and Thrive Team.

Are you ready to join the ULTIMATE battle these school holidays?

We have limited spaces available.

From urban tactical assaults to a full blown zombie apocalypse, our nerf battles will leave you on the edge of your seat.
Designed to encourage teamwork, mate ship and have a whole bunch of fun.
What’s included:

Looking for a meaningful, active, nature-based after school activity for your children to embrace?

Our Kids Country program is jam-packed full of fun, friendships and learning super useful life skills!

👀What’s included:
- Horsemanship: Learning groundwork, connection, and liberty skills (Dancing with the horses)
- Adventure & Projects: We will be building projects, survival-based crafts and other fun adventures
- Learn how to care for farm animals (in a fun way)
- Social Skills: Nurture new friendships and develop skills to help in social environments
- Mindfulness: Learn how to self-regulate and conquer challenges that may arise

Rowena Woolly, Psychologist

Rowena Woolley has been a registered psychologist for 12 years and is the owner of Connect and Thrive Psychology. Prior to private practice, Rowena worked in clinical and leadership roles in the Queensland Government’s Disability Services. Rowena works along side a team of experienced therapists and previous Disability Services clinicians at My Therapy Space in Burleigh. Rowena has extensive experience providing services to people who have a disability, behaviour difficulties, complex trauma and mental health concerns. She has a passion for working with people who have a dual disability and currently coordinates the Metro South Dual Disability Mental Health Professionals Network Meetings. Rowena has also combined her passion for horses to provide an alternative modality for people who don’t respond well to room based therapy and would benefit from an experiential approach.

Rowena is a Psychology Board of Australia approved supervisor to people completing the 4+2 or 5+1 pathway to registration. Rowena also provides professional supervision to behaviour support practitioners who are seeking to meet their requirements for registration with the NDIS under the category of Improved Relationships. Rowena has an interest in research and has participated in a number of research projects focused on parenting and early childhood development.
