We have been testing the 37lt feed tub over the past three months and can confidently say they are tough buckets. We have jumped on them. Our 600kg horses have pawed at them with shoes on. Our foals have used them as chew toys. They have been through been storms. They have stood up to everything we have thrown at them and are still like new.

With the heavy rain forecast from 5pm tonight, unfortunately we won’t be open for our normal late night trading. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. James will have the shop open until 5pm today for any last minute items you may need to weather the rain. Stay safe everyone.

If the current weather forecast is correct, it looks like the Gold Coast is going to get ALOT of rain over the next 4 days.  If you have horses in low lying areas that are prone to flooding please make plans now to move them if necessary. Don”t wait until it is too late. We ourselves experienced an unexpected rain event that caused flash flooding when we had a horses on the Gold Coast and we almost lost horses. It was really scary so speaking from experience, please make plans now in case you need them. There are flood free paddocks available at KPH Agistment at Beaudesert if you don’t have other options.

This morning before the rain sets in, please call into Gold Coast Stockfeed to stock up on hay (we have lots of fresh Rhodes, grassy lucerne and lucerne hay in store), Proteq Bedding Pellets, wood shavings, gut health products and stress paste because this weather does affect the horses and veterinary items to make sure you have things on hand if needed. Cetrigen spray is vital for cuts and nicks so they don’t become infected in the water and turn into cellulitis. Poultices and bandages are good items to stock up on too for abcesses likely to develop after this rain event.

Kitten Name Update:
These 2 cute but mischievous girls still don’t have a name! We were totally blown away with the number of awesome name suggestions sent in by our amazing customers. The competition has now closed. With more than 110 entries, Boss Bruce is overwhelmed with the names to sort through so please bear with us until he has the time to choose 2 winners.
