**10 Tips to Thrive this Xmas**
Here are some simple, practical tips to actually thrive this Christmas
- not just survive it:
🎄 1. Protect Your Energy
Say no to at least one thing. You don’t need to attend every event or keep everyone happy. Choose what genuinely feels good.
🎁 2. Do “micro–joy” every day
Small things that lift you: a walk, a cup of tea, 10 minutes of sunlight, your favourite music. These matter more during the silly season chaos.
🧠 3. Set realistic expectations
Christmas doesn’t have to be perfect. Lower the pressure and focus on connection, not perfection.
💸 4. Keep your spending intentional
Decide what you want to spend before the impulse buys hit. Thoughtful gifts > expensive gifts.
🧑🤝🧑 5. Plan pockets of alone time
Even if you love your family, holidays can be overwhelming. Schedule downtime so you can reset.
🍽️ 6. Enjoy the food without guilt
Eat the pav, have the roast potatoes - just stop when you’re satisfied. No punishment, no “starting fresh in January.”
🎶 7. Mix traditions with something new
Keep what you love, ditch what you don’t, and add one fun new thing - a movie night, a sunrise beach walk, a games night.
🍃 8. Move your body (but make it fun)
A walk with a friend, backyard cricket, dance in the kitchen. Movement helps with stress and mood.
❤️ 9. Check in on the people you care about
The holidays are rough for some. A single message can make a difference.
🤍 10. Choose presence over presents
Genuine moments is the stuff people remember.
