Recently I shared two Private Yoga Sessions and three group classes with a lovely guest at Eden Health Retreat. Her request was to improve her alignment in postures so she could build upon her home practice. With this intention, I designed classes with a solid foundation with gentle adjustments, then progressively layered to build strength and confidence. To see “Missy” shift and grow during this journey was a gift

"To All the Mothers, in All the Ways You Are…
Today, we honor the sacred power of motherhood, not only in the women who gave us life, but in all those who have nurtured, protected, guided, and loved with a mother’s heart.
To the birth mothers, the soul mothers, the grandmothers, the aunties, the priestesses, the guardians of wisdom and love, thank you.
To the women who hold space, tend wounds, whisper encouragement, and awaken dreams, thank you.
To those who mother the Earth, who mother animals, who mother the world with their compassion, you are seen.
To those who carry the ache of loss or longing today, may you feel wrapped in grace and remembrance.
Motherhood is not just a role, it is a frequency of unconditional love, the original divine feminine pulse that births all things anew.
May this day be a gentle reminder that your love shapes worlds.
Happy Mother’s Day, with deep reverence" ❤️

Healing isn’t always loud.
Sometimes, it’s a quiet return to yourself – pen in hand, tea nearby, thoughts slowly finding their way onto paper.
Journalling is part of the Eden experience for a reason. It helps you process, reflect, and begin again with intention.

Yoga is not just about stretching and exercising. It is about living a life of benevolence, peace, of love... and blooming from within. Yoga is a pathway to happiness, compassion, self-empowerment and freedom. From personal experience I acknowledge that Yoga can be life changing. As a mother of three young daughters, I know how easy it can be to "lose yourself" in the role of parenting. Too often we can become consumed by everyday life, Yoga can be a sanctuary as it provides time away from the busyness of life. Our Yoga practice is a time for self-care and allows us to restore, rejuvenate and reconnect to our mind, body and spirit. Yoga is a journey of personal development and self-improvement, it has become a vehicle towards positive change for me personally.
Yoga led me down the path of self-healing and spiritual awakening. I embraced Yoga wholeheartedly and it has become an integral aspect of who I am today. Yoga is about developing an intimate awareness of your mind, body and spirit connection. During my yogic journey, I have learned about my resistance towards acceptance, forgiveness, impermanence, self-love and self-compassion. The practice of Yoga has helped me to become more self aware. I have a newfound trust in listening to my intuition and honouring my Soul's purpose. For me, Yoga is a form of therapy. It has assisted in unlocking trapped trauma, releasing blockages in tense parts of my body and has enabled me to let go of negative memories that have been buried in my subconscious mind. Yoga has been described as "the journey of the self, through the self, to the self” (The Bhagavad Gita).
“The study of asana is not about mastering posture. It is about using posture to understand and transform yourself. Yoga allows you to find a new kind of freedom that you may not have known ever existed.” (B.K.S Iyengar). Yoga has been my medicine... my meditation through movement... my safe place. When I arrive at my mat, I feel at home – it’s as though my true self is allowed to shine and my fears subside. Yoga has boosted my motivation, brought purpose back to my life and has improved my self-esteem and self-confidence. Yoga is a journey within, of looking inward at life, a way of thinking. Personally, Yoga is about being responsible for my actions while learning that every experience in life occurred to bring me to where I am at this present moment. There are no regrets, just lessons to learn; nothing ever goes away until it teaches us what we need to know. Just as the tide ebbs and flows, just as the clouds constantly change, I too am growing and evolving.
For me, Yoga is a way of life. It is a tool to deeply connect with my true being, embracing love rather than fear. Yoga is about letting go of attachments, permanence, judgements, stress, expectations and external desires, by surrendering to the present moment. Recognising that life does not happen to you, it happens for you – maybe not as planned, but just as it is meant to. Yoga is about being compassionate towards ourselves and others, living with an open heart, being mindful of how we treat ourselves and others and our impact on the world. Finding beauty within the imperfections of life, peacefully accepting that everything is constantly changing, empowers us to experience more gratitude and joy.
We cannot always control what happens in the world outside, however, we can control our world within, that is where our power is.
My purpose (dharma) is to enrich the lives of people that I come in contact with by sparking their curiosity to explore Yoga. Teaching Yoga is the vehicle for me to give back to the world by elevating others. I commit to be a devoted Yogi, dedicated to my Yoga practice, which will lead me to freedom and all the way to enlightenment (moksha). I commit to being a ripple of peace by passing down Yogic wisdom onto my students. “Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared”. The key to happiness is wanting what we already have and I will encourage students to rejoice in the way things are and to realise there is nothing lacking. Happiness, love, light, peace, joy, loving-kindness, equanimity and compassion are all qualities I wish to share with the world so that others can live benevolently. I will teach others that these qualities are not in things, they are within each and every one of us. I will guide students down their own path of peace by encouraging them to listen to their inner guru as a guide to transformation. Yoga purifies us: it purifies the physical body with asana; purifies the lungs with pranayama; purifies the mental processes. Yoga assists us in purifying our mental body by altering our thoughts into more positive ones. Everything is temporary and change is always possible. The purpose of Yoga is to expand a person physically, mentally and spiritually. I will teach students that once we take responsibility for our thoughts, our ignorance dissipates in the light. Our loving and compassionate thoughts counterbalance the negativity and we emanate a higher emotional vibration. Yoga is the vehicle for reconnecting people with their true essential nature and I will provide this platform of growth. I am committed to providing a safe and sacred space for people to step on their Yoga mat and “come home” to their true selves. I keep my heart open to express compassion for all. I am committed to making a positive impact on people’s lives. “I aspire to be an empowered woman with vision and grace. Soft-hearted but strong, self-aware and sure. Respected for my mind, admired for my heart and above all, always honest, open and raw” - The Blackline.
