Wecome to our November "Get to Know the BYB community" featuring Upside down L like Lynda! The costume master... the duck walk queen... there is so much we could talk about with Lynda. The hardest past was deciding on what photos to use for this from the 1000s we've taken over the years! The amount of costumes we've done is bordering on ridiculous 😂. We are very grateful and lucky to have such a strong, dedicated and fun yogi at the studio ❤️🙏

When did you start bikram yoga and why?

My very first class was around 11 years ago. My girls were only young and a mum from school invited me along. I felt so out of my comfort zone having never done yoga before…but I survived…just! In school holidays I’d take the girls and they’d wait in reception armed with iPads and gymnastic routines to keep them busy. I probably did 1 maybe 2 classes a week until I tried Robbie’s intermediate class and from then I was addicted. Then came the costume classes. I went from someone who did not wear any form of dress up for any occasion to now….weeks of preparation for the perfect and many times crazy costume!!

How has bikram yoga changed your life?

Unbelievably!! I’m now more flexible, much stronger (both physically and mentally) and more confident. It gets me through difficult times.
I recently had a big break (several months) due to personal reasons and it was so tough not being on my mat doing the thing I love most…YOGA! Apart of missing and everyone around me noticed.
I’m back now and it is actually the thing that gets me through life’s challenges. I’ve met so many awesome, amazing people who have become my yoga family ❤️

What is your favourite posture and why?

I would have to say Standing Bow. It is definitely a work in progress. Challenging myself with the balance and flexibility is always ongoing but seeing and feeling improvement is very rewarding.
And remember…point your toes 😁

Also available for private classes on Wednesday 19th, Thursday 20th and Sunday 23rd. Just pick a time and we will meet you at the studio! If you haven't met Amrei before she is an absolutely phenomenonal teacher who will change your practice in so many ways 💫
