⬇️ Why our lungs thrive in HBOT ⬇️
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is often used to enhance lung health through increased oxygen delivery to tissues.
In this therapy , patients breathe pure oxygen in a pressurised chamber, allowing the bloodstream to carry higher levels of oxygen to damaged or compromised lung tissues.
⬇️ How does general breathing compare ? ⬇️
Breathing pure oxygen in a pressurised chamber can increase oxygen levels in the bloodstream up to 10 to 15 times higher than breathing air at normal atmospheric pressure. Bear in mind…soft chambers have minimal capabilities compared to tier 2 hard chambers as they can reach atmospheric pressures up to 3.0ATA.
None the less, increased oxygenation promotes healing by stimulating the growth of new blood vessels and reducing inflammation.
HBOT may benefit various lung conditions, including acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and radiation-induced lung injury. By improving oxygenation and tissue repair, HBOT can alleviate symptoms such as shortness of breath, coughing, and fatigue, while also preventing further deterioration of lung function.
However, HBOT’s effectiveness may vary depending on the specific lung condition and the individual’s overall health status, making it important for patients to consult healthcare professionals to determine its suitability and potential benefits.
