Aria completed an intensive and has transitioned into weekly therapy to keep building on her progress.

She made some incredible gains during her intensive, particularly in her standing and walking. Carryover into weekly sessions has been strong, with continued improvements in confidence and movement quality.

Also… how good are quad sticks. Quickly becoming a favourite piece of equipment for supporting alignment, stability and finding independent stepping.

Working alongside her Exercise Physiologists Nicole and Charne.

Well done, Aria 👏

Milestone Monday for Fiadh.

Rolling was at the top of Fiadh’s goal list for this intensive, building the range through her shoulders, finding the coordination, and getting the timing to bring it all together.

This week, it clicked. Fiadh found her roll.

Rolling takes a lot of coordination but opens up a whole new world of movement, play, and independence.

Such a special moment. We are so proud of you, Fiadh. The whole team across Rotorua and Australia is cheering you on. Ring the bell 🔔

Meet Ayaan - 7 years old & four years with us. 💙

He walked through our doors in March 2022 and he hasn't stopped since.

Here he is with Co-Founder, Stephen, working hard like he always does. Same focus. Same determination. Just a little taller than when he started. 🥹

We are so proud of you! See you next session.

EXCITING NEWS - WELLINGTON! 🇳🇿
We've just added single sessions to the pop up from June 1 - 19.

We want to make therapy as easy as possible to access, without committing to a full 1 or 3 week intensive.

Co-founders Stephen & Emily will be in clinic for the full pop up, so this is a rare chance for Wellington families to work directly with the people who built this.

DM 'WELLINGTON' to apply and our team will be in touch to get you booked in. 👇

The TheraSuit you can see is a dynamic orthotic system that uses elastic resistance to support posture and activate the correct muscle groups during movement. It's intense. It's demanding. And somehow, this is what it looks like.

Milestone Monday

Meet Elyse.

Elyse is new to Centre of Movement Rotorua, and in just one month, she’s rediscovered some independent movement.

After three years without sitting independently, Elyse found it again on Friday… and confidently held it.

After working with the team to build awareness, range and strength, and to feel safe in her body as it moves, she found sitting during her session with Nicole, Exercise Physiologist. We actually had to stop the timer because she just kept going.

Elyse uses a hoist for transfers and a powered wheelchair for mobility, so this shift in postural control opens up new ways for her to engage with family and life.

Such a wonderful new skill.
Well done, Elyse.

We're looking for a full-time Occupational Therapist to join our Burleigh Heads team.

At Centre of Movement, we work with children with neurological conditions in an intensive, multidisciplinary setting. You'll be working alongside physios, exercise physiologists and speech pathologists, contributing to shared goals around function, independence and participation.

Our Burleigh Heads clinic is a collaborative environment where therapists work closely together, share ideas, and support each other in delivering exceptional care for children and their families.

Burleigh Heads - great surf, great coffee, and genuinely one of the best places on the Gold Coast to live and work. ☀️

This is occupational therapy at Centre of Movement. Every session is built around the specific movements your child is working towards - broken down into their smallest components, practised repeatedly, and built back up into functional skills.

Fine motor skills underpin almost everything a child does independently — eating, dressing, writing, playing. When we work on hand function, we're working on participation in everyday life.

Meet Lucy! In action with Exercise Physiologist Sam in our Rotorua, New Zealand clinic.

Lucy is walking on the treadmill supported by the Universal Exercise Unit, using the bungee system to partially support her body weight and create the conditions needed for a more efficient gait pattern.

The UEU allows children like Lucy to access the movement with the right support, giving Sam the ability to facilitate stepping with improved alignment, weight shift, and patterning so each step is more meaningful.
