Track your progress - how do you know if your treatment/rehab is working?
Jamie had severe low back pain for a month. He saw another therapist a few times and followed a treatment plan at home. It provided a small amount of relief but didn’t last long.
Photo 1 shows how restricted Jamie was when trying to bend forward (bending further quickly increased tightness and pain). He was barely able to work and couldn’t go to the gym, surf or play golf. Photo 2 shows his ability to bend forward after we did 3 sessions in 6 days focusing on problem solving and tracking his progress to make sure he was improving.
When you start a weight loss program or train for a competition, you track your progress so you can see the results. With pain and injury, you need to track your progress. Use physical or functional tests so you can see your progress.
