Shingles can occur at any age to anyone who has previously had chickenpox. Due to the natural aging of our immune systems, adults 50 years and older are at increased risk for shingles with 1 in 3 developing the disease in their lifetime. People who are immunocompromised due to certain medical conditions or medications are also at increased risk of developing shingles.

Some common symptoms to look out for:
🔍 A painful, itchy rash on one side of the face or body
🔍 Fatigue, fever & headache
🔍 Sensitivity to touch

Early treatment for shingles may reduce the severity and duration of the illness, depending on your symptoms. If you think you have shingles, speak to your doctor or pharmacist as soon as possible. We encourage all adults 50+ to speak to their doctor or pharmacist to learn more about preventative steps, such as vaccination, to reduce their risk of shingles.

🌀cyclone Alfred update 🌀 Pacific Pines Chempro will be changing our opening hours on Thursday 6/3 and Friday 7/3 for the safety of our staff and customers. We will be open the following: •Thursday 6/3: 7am- 6pm. •Friday 7/3: 10am- midnight. The front roller door may be down due to the high winds so please access the store through the glass door to the left or use the drive-thru during the above hours. Saturday and Sunday will be business as usual as long as we have power and can safely trade. We will update on social media of any changes to the schedule. Stay safe xo.
