This is the first thing I talk to women and families about when TTC. Understanding your body, tracking cyclic symptoms and looking for patterns can tell me a lot about what support you need to fall pregnant.

Temperature tracking or basal body temperature tracking (BBT) is a great way to really understand your body’s hormone health, see where you’re ovulating and see the length of your luteal phase and whether your body is in optimal health for falling pregnant.

We can also use this information to guide biomedical investigations and inform treatment that is specific to you and what your body needs.

The infertility space is so hard. Especially for Wildly Capable Women. Women who find it hard to ask for help, who are capable of doing their own research and able to make their own supplement and treatment plans.

But almost every woman and family I meet for an initial consultation, say to me that they wish they’d known more earlier. That what they thought they knew wasn’t relevant to them and they’ve been on the wrong path for years.

They’d wished they’d tested more earlier, asked more questions, understood and tracked more about their bodies and health.

I really love the education part of treatments. I love seeing lightbulb moments and points of connecting the dots. But that also sometimes goes with sadness, anger and regret.

Often I don’t see women and families until after years of infertility, pregnancy loss or failed IVF cycles. Acupuncture is often last on the list, which I get. Really.

But if you know someone who is in that first 12 months of trying to conceive or better yet, planning to conceive in the future and not sure where to start, encourage them to seek support then đŸ©·

Today was so much fun! These beautiful mums have been doing a pre natal yoga series with Lauren and she asked me to do some acupuncture amongst the restorative poses.

We discussed nourishment from a TCM point of view and yoga philosophy point of view and then I treated some back pain, SIJ pain, digestion and reflux with acupuncture and moxibustion đŸ©·

It’s only taken me 4 years to put the clinic name on the sign downstairs. Not entirely sure why!

Wellness includes all areas of health. Physical, emotional, relationships, financial, living within your values.

It doesn’t mean you have to be in ‘perfect health’ but it does mean that whilst you’re actively moving towards improving your health and wellbeing, you’re always moving closer to your goal of pregnancy đŸ©·
