Christmas week is extra busy for my little family as Elsie’s birthday is on the 23rd (5 this year 🥰) and my husband Josh has his birthday on Christmas Day!

So we have limited appointments next week and the week after but back to normal from Monday 5th January, 2026.

We come home in a few days.

I’m going to miss this daily view, my morning chocolate croissant and sunset pina coladas!

If you’re looking for an all inclusive, luxury island escape, VOMO Island has ticked all the boxes for our family.

I’ve mostly enjoyed not having to make so many decisions, cook or clean!

The girls have had so many cool new experiences too - like basket weaving, snorkeling and hermit crab races. They’ve been out of their comfort zones so much and are now confident in heading to the bar in the mornings to ask for their daily fruit slushy (I’ve given up caring about what they’re eating while we’re here and it’s been much less stressful and they’re ok!).

Sarah () is doing an amazing job looking after all of my beautiful clients this week again. Ill be back in clinic next Tuesday 16th December 🩷

We have an unspoken family rule. Whichever parent has physically delivered the least number of children, has to swim with them. Josh and I don’t have to talk about it. He’s in the water with the kids at every birthday party, family event, beach swim.

But on holidays is different. When I don’t have to organise dinner and wash and clean and also wash and blow dry and straighten my hair, I have time and can enjoy swimming!

I wish I was more relaxed but I’m just not. It’s been lovely to spend time in the pool with them though…and not have to clean the house, wash clothes or cook afterwards! 🩷

Day 3 in Fiji. As much as I love my family, I am a better mum and nicer person when I get some time to myself.

The girls are finally at an age where they sleep in (Harriet has been our shocking sleeper and still often wakes at 530am or earlier). But they’ve both been sleeping in after days of sun and swimming and I have been able to get up early on my own and go for a walk and enjoy a coffee on the beach with my book before anyone wakes up. Bliss 🩷

Yesterday we celebrated Elsie’s 5th birthday with her kindy friends! She’s a December baby so we do try and celebrate early. She wanted a ‘Sprinkle Party’. I don’t do healthy birthday cakes. This one had the added sugar of sprinkles in the inside too. I think Elsie ate every second marshmallow she put on the top too. So much fun.

I think when you’ve gone through any infertility, birthdays are such reflective times. Well for me anyway. To conceive Harriet we went through ten years of working out what was wrong and Elsie was our little COVID surprise.

I often recommend visualising your life with your children in it, rather than just being pregnant when going through fertility challenges. Visualise making birthday cakes, organising Christmases, visualise kids toys all over the house and places where you can imagine being with them. For the Gold Coast, I feel it works to imagine walking along your favourite beach with a baby on a carrier 🩷

Early pregnancy can be an incredibly challenging time, especially if you’ve been working hard to get there or even more so if you’ve experienced pregnancy loss.

Knowing more about your fertility health - estrogen metabolism, inflammation, progesterone levels, immune system, uterine health, ovulation timing, blood flow, s***m health really can help support your body in early pregnancy.

The first three months working with me is working these things out and treating the areas of concern so we can feel more confident in early pregnancy, know what tests we need to do, continue early pregnancy treatments and continuity of care for when you do fall pregnant for the first time, subsequent time or after a pregnancy loss.

This announcement is a little earlier this year due to our holiday in a couple of weeks.

I absolutely can’t wait to work with new families but I do need to prioritise the time we have available this year to the women and families I am already supporting.
