Right now, your system is reorganising.

Gently preparing for the changes that spring can often bring with it.

In the quiet of winter, nature rests.

But underneath the surface, life is preparing to bloom again.

In this weeks online practices, we have been honouring both the stillness we’re emerging from, and the energy we’re stepping into.

Two of them have been filmed and uploaded into our membership portal.

Both themed "From Winter to Spring"

1. Hatha Yoga and Guided Meditation (60 min)
2. Yin Yoga (40 min)

The rest of this weeks classes have similar themes.

And next week we will be diving into classes that are themed around the first week of Spring!

Join us to practice in a way that supports our transition from Winter to Spring 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

My whirlwind or a trip to Singapore and Malaysia was insightful, emotive and deeply healing.

I have been in a state of constant reflection in regard to how my grandma being raised in an orphanage followed by living in a boarding school shaped my beautiful mum and in turn, shaped me.

My grandma, for reasons suspected, didn’t really like my mum and wasn’t very nice to her. I have tears rolling down my cheeks with this thought. My mum broke many chains.

But then I think of my grandma - I think of all the orphans 💔 And my heart breaks for her / them too.

So many wild story’s.

Many questions answered.

Many more, not.

It’s good to be home with my boys - my privellage is not lost on me.

If you want to see a little reel I shared from my trip, go check it out on my personal page 🙏🏼

As I return back to classes this week, I’m bringing in a theme.

It’s the last week of winter here in Australia, as we move towards Spring 🌼

Right now, our systems are reorganising!

Between Winters stillness and and Springs action, there is a subtle transition.

A sacred in-between.

A place where unseen transformation takes place.

I encourage you to bring your journals to our online classes over these next two weeks.

As we shift from Winter to Spring, you may feel called to write ✍️ A wonderful tool to cultivate awareness and clarification.

Head over to our website and you’ll see where you can become a member for under $5 per week for unlimited access to classes.

I’ll be recording a few of them so if you cannot make them live, you’ll be able to join them at a time that suits you ❤️

In 48 hours I’ll be on my way to explore my heritage in Singapore and Malaysia (Melaka, where my grandma was raised in an orphanage).

I’m going with my aunty (mums sister), cousin and brother and leaving my little family behind.

When mum passed away, I kicked myself for not being more present with all the stories she told me about when she was young.

She has an interesting and out of the box life. Truly a wild woman who walked her own path and definitely did not fit the stereotype of a woman who lived through the times that she did ❤️

I guess this is an appreciation post.

For my supportive family - Brendan who lets me be me and relentlessly loves me for it, who has supported the turbulent life choices I have often made, the spontaneous and often erratic nature of my mother’s daughter. Who never really fit into a box either.

I know that without him, I quite possibly would not be as steady and grounded as I am. He’s definitely the consistent and patient one.

Stepping into the role of full time parent for the time that I’m gone - I’m sure there is a part of him that is possibly looking forward to not having this little tornado spinning webs of flurry, constantly moving from A to B with purpose and drive 😂

The thing I’m most grateful for is knowing that he will do a damn good job to fill the gap that a full time mum leaves when she vacates the home.

I also know how good this will be for the father and son bond. And that no doubt, Nahlo will, on some level, grow up whilst I’m gone.

Everyday that passes, our children change, never to he quite the same again.

Also deeply appreciating the team of teachers covering my classes and keeping things ticking whilst I’m gone.

I notice how these days, it’s easier for me to let go.

To loosen the grip of control.

To trust the process.

A testament to the practice

All classes will be covered from Thursday 14 until and including Friday 22nd August whilst I take thins pilgrimage down my motherline ❤️

Thanks for the shot .sarasvati 🙏🏼

Two retreats. One thread. Self study + silence.

This week, we closed two potent retreats: the Philosophy of Yoga followed by our Silent Retreat.

Different containers, same intention - deepening practice and coming closer to Self realisation.

The philosophy retreat was rigorous, not in pace but in inquiry.

We studied core texts, challenged assumptions, and sat with the tension between ancient teachings and modern life.

It was a space of honest study, whilst learning how to be gentle in the process of being truly human.

Then, into silence.

The Silent Retreat offered what only silence can - clarity, discomfort, peace, boredom, presence.

It asked for gentle discipline and simplicity. For many - courage. For others, the need for time away from all the tasks and asks of daily life and living.

No performance, no posturing, just practice.

To those who showed up - thank you.

For your sincerity, your presence, and your willingness to walk the less glamorous path of yoga.

May the insights and steadiness ripple outward.

This is yoga.

This is Sādhanā.

Thank you to our incredible team 👇🏼

Our silent retreat has sold out 🙏🏼

We have a couple of spots left for a couple of people who would like to join us to dive deep into the heart and art of life, living and yoga.

It’s diverse group of over 20 women this year who are attending to gently immerse in the breathtaking nature of Springbrook.

Many from last year, many new faces!

Most travelling solo.

If you’re feeling spontaneous and after something deeply profound, practical and inspiring, with a dash of confrontational - because let’s be honest, growth is rarely comfortable!

Then, this could be your call.

Happiness comes and goes but deep peace strengthens and builds.

We can cultivate that.

From judgmental in regards to the online world of teaching yoga,

to being absolutely, gratefully, immersed as the owner of an online yoga school and as an online yoga teacher.

I used to shake my head at the question of teaching yoga online.

But since 2020, I got the nudge to move online.

It didn't come without questioning, doubt and a lot of resistance.

How things change!

Theres nothing quite like taking five steps outside my front door and into my little home studio, to meet people all across Australia, and even bridging to the other corners of the globe, to work with those who want to dive into the heart and art of life and living.

No car rides, no need to get care for our son - and such a diverse group of individuals!

There is just under four weeks until we dive into the live, interactive part of our online yoga teacher training.

These live components are an integral part of our fully accredited training course and only come around once a year.

If you want to teach yoga online or face to face, we support you with both options!

If you don't want to teach but want to join us to dive into the heart of yoga, that is a popular option too!

Registrations will close for 2025 in two weeks.

Thanks Sarah Reid Personal Branding Photography for the photo. Its not often you see me out of my hoodie and into a jacket!

Reflecting as I head into this final week of the school term...

It was my mums birthday last week. I haven't stopped to take a moment to really feel her. This week, I'll be doing that.

I have a big dusty box inside my studio that is ready to be opened and sorted through. Sifting through memories like this takes time and it's something I love to do.

I'm searching for something specific - a ring that was hers that I loved as a child and I kind of took it or she kind of gave it to me. I can't really remember but she was always very much "What is mine is yours".

I'm going to Singapore and Malaysia soon. I'm going with my brother, my Auntie and my cousin.

Whilst there I will be meeting some of mums cousins and going to the orphanage where my grandma lived as a child.

It's going to be the longest duration of time I have spent away from my son. Its also going to connect me deeper into my heritage (Im quarter Malaysian).

Life has been full.

Its the way I like it.

But it also sometimes gets int the way of the bigger feelings that need to be accessed to heal.

And when I get in the way of myself, some things are certain.

My body tells me gently, before she starts to scream.

Well, she's screaming right now.

With the final assignments for this semester handed in.

Our Brisbane YTT complete.

Our retreats just about to sell out.

An unexpected family sickness set into a framework that will hold for the next 4-6 months. A little steadiness in amidst the extreme unsteadiness that this has brought.

I can feel space opening up.

Now, I just need to get out of the way!

My priorities this week:

1. Dropping flowers on mums grave. Sitting with her.

2. Spending time diving into boxes of memories.

3. Rest.

Then, we move into my fav times of the year. School holidays where I get to spend time with my favourite little human. Whilst he still wants to spend time with me :-)

We enter school holidays with a seven year old.

We exit them with an eight year old!

Time flies.

Aaaand that’s a wrap 💫

Our first Brisbane YTT at Amber Tree Yoga and Retreats 🙏🏼

What an amazing crew of dedicated practitioners who all taught their first ever yoga classes across these last two weekends.

It’s just such an honour to be part of something like this. Diving into the heart and art of life living is what yoga is all about.

Shout out to Amy who whole heartedly lead this training 🫶🏼

Navigating twists and turns with you simply feels easy.

Congratulations all!

As I've gotten older, my practice has become far more about nourishing my central nervous system.

As a result, I seem to attract far more people who have the same interest!

Especially in our online community.

I've just brought in a new class.

A mid week 45 minute class ~ breath, meditation and movement.

So many choices are given in the class to truly help you develop your own personal practice.
