Most people don’t feel better when they “drink more water” because hydration isn’t a volume problem, it’s often a cellular one.

Your cells rely on minerals like sodium, potassium, and magnesium to actually absorb and hold water. Without adequate electrolytes, water can pass through the body without fully hydrating tissues.

Stress, poor digestion, hormone imbalance, and chronic depletion all increase mineral loss and reduce cellular absorption. This is why symptoms like persistent thirst, fatigue, headaches, brain fog, and dry skin can continue even when water intake looks “adequate.”
