Bunny Sniffs 🐰🌬

- Sitting back on our heels with knees bent and hands in front like two little paws.
- Wriggle that nose like a bunny them give two short sniffs – hold – then a long exhale.
- Repeat three times.

Our Woodchopper breath is a great one to release those feelings of anger and frustration. 😡😤Try it with your child when you see their energy building.

Woodchopper Breath 🪓🌳🔥😮‍💨

- Standing with your legs apart, feet pressed firmly into the ground.
- Join your hands together and with straight arms, lift them above your head as you inhale deeply.
- As you exhale, bend your knees and lower your arms in front with a chop and a shout hee-ya!!
- Repeat 3 times then check-in with your body to see how you feel

Acceptance as an act of compassion.💚

As we step into a week that is a celebration of our differences – , celebration Week and week, the word compassion came to mind.

Compassion is made up of a number of elements including empathy and being able to put oneself in another’s shoes to help relate and understand their experiences. 🫶 Compassion goes a step further to take action generally with the desire to relieve suffering however the active expression of acceptance can play a powerful role.

To hold space for another.

To let go of resistance to change or force.

To drop judgement.

To drop rejection.

To drop expectations.

Acceptance for the person or circumstances just as they are. 💖

And perhaps showing this kindness and acceptance of yourself too.🤗

Compassion is a key theme in our green, heart chakra class of the Chakradance Kids™ Wellbeing Program and we interweave elements throughout our kids yoga classes.

What creates a hero? In class we look at the qualities behind being a hero.

✨Kindness - helping others if they're hurt or being inclusive at school, brightening someone's day
🦸‍♂️Bravery - to stand up for ourself, our beliefs as well as others
💪 Strength - Finding our inner strength through having the courage to try new things and perseverance to keep going

We work on creating the feeling of being a hero by using some affirmations (powerful words we say to ourselves to feed our subconscious mind) and yoga poses to feel these qualities in our bodies like our warrior poses. ☺️💫

You can be a hero everyday! What act of kindness can you do this week to show kindness? A friendly smile, some words of affirmation to a friend, a little note for your child/parent or their teacher, taking over someone's chore for the day. Let us know in the comments below! We interweaved the theme of Cats and Dogs this week as we refreshed on some introductory poses and woke up our spine.

With a focus on spine articulation, twists and forward folds, we build both flexibility and strength.🐶🐱💪

Poses working with the spine assist in unleashing stuck energy, increasing blood flow to the brain as well as releasing the lower back. Inversions are also a great way to calm the nervous system and stretch the whole body!! 🧘‍♀️

Hello community 👋

Thought it may be time for an introduction ✨A little bit about me....

I grew up with movement a part of life through over 16 years of dance. This transitioned to yoga when I became a mum of two and needed a way to reconnect to myself and find calm.

Yoga has taught me many things – the creation of time with stillness; to be the observer; non-judgement; tolerance; self-love; acceptance and surrender to name a few and along the way instilled values of humility, self-respect and compassion.

Learning to come back to oneself is such an important skill as we face various life challenges. Having awareness, trusting our inner-voice and having the tools to call upon our strengths, will help us live a life of integrity and inspire us to make a contribution to this world.

Nurturing the connection between the body, mind and soul is what we need for our fullest expression and to truly feel whole. If we are to achieve our fullest potential, maintaining and growing our wellbeing is essential.

Through kids yoga, mindfulness, movement and wellbeing programs, we can teach our young ones skills that keep them true to who they are and help guide them in the right direction through life’s ups and downs. Developing self-enquiry to understand themselves better, as well as their impact on others and the world, provides a foundation from which to grow.

The importance of wellbeing cannot be underestimated and developing an intentional practice is becoming essential. Classes offer a dedicated time and a safe space for our children and offer the opportunity to be still; to self-reflect; to release and express; to learn new skills and guide them to self-manage through easy and fun tools. They also are a place of connection and belonging where we develop compassion and appreciation for everyone’s unique offerings in this world. 🫶💞

Oh what fun we had! That's a wrap for 2025💞✨️

A heartfelt thanks to all the parents, businesses, students and supporters out there for being a part of this community in 2025.

We've enjoyed learning many skills this year, exploring yoga poses through adventures, building strength and focus, learning to work and share with others and self reflect, all whilst having fun!

Having a practice that grounds you, calms the mind and body and more importantly, brings you back to yourself, is vital in this day and age. Our yoga and wellbeing programs aim to teach just that to our children and bring it into their everyday.

I congratulate your commitment to carving the time and space for your child to practice and hope it helps in making them feel supported during these developing years.

Sending you wishes for a restful season with many blessings to come for the new year!🎄💖
