To all the mums I know, happy friendship day. Today reach out to the friend you haven’t spoken to in a while, or reach out to someone new. The best self care is having a friend you can laugh with, cry with and that you don’t have to clean the house for.

Having worked in community health, schools, private practice and university as a speech pathologist, I have experienced service provision in many different forms and have come to know how I want to best serve (and how not to serve) the little people I work with. I want to create an environment that is welcoming, comfortable and fun. A place where children want to come and “play games” and earn their stickers. A place where parents see their children are excited to go to. I also want a place that families want to come to and “play games” with their children and see them earn their stickers. A place that families are excited to go to.
This has led me to starting a private practice alongside Sharon. Sharon is a valued peer, fellow speech pathologist and a dear friend. She shares the same values as I do and wants the same thing for her clients. We have talked, shared and planned. We asked “What is it we want for our families?
This question has led us to the realisation that we want a work environment that will allow us the time to serve our clients in the way we hope to. And so we are starting the My Speech Centre for speech pathology services.
We will remain in the community we love. We have chosen an intimate and warm space, with easy access. We will fill it with our toys and games and swing open the doors to you, our community.
We look forward to continuing to serve our families in meeting their child’s goal.
