Couldnât have said it better myself! Focus on nutrient density the rest will follow...
The greatest definition for optimal nutrition and lifestyle is this:
When you focus on food quality, the quantities take care of themselves!
Think about it:
When you supply your body with nutrients, nourishment, and fuel with whole foods, organic, free range, pasture feed, non stressed animals that are able to thrive and flourish, then so my friends are you!
When you use foods rich in antioxidants, flavonoids, phytochemicals and vitality, disease is so much easier for your body to keep at bay, for you thrive, all without calorie counting, and living via mathematical equations and nonsense.
Again, stop and contemplate:
How often does it occur your famished, stressed, emotional, you head to the pantry, you find some refined, processed, sugar hit, that more than likely comes packed with unstable vegetable and seed oils, and additives.
You hit the couch and wow in no time of mindless eating, it's all vanished.Yes a large bag of chips, an entire packet of Tim Tams, and the 2L tub of ice cream, plus the sugar laden soft drink! All vanished. You feel like trailer trash, your tired, lethargic, malaised, and ready to burst!
But within the hour your hungry again, and your heading off in search of another fix, yes another feeding frenzy!
How can this be?
Simple really! YOUR BODY IS CRYING OUT FOR NOURISHMENT, not an energy content! There is a huge disparity here!
HENCE WHY I PREACH: focus on the optimal food quality and then, and only then, will the quantities take care of themselves!
Nutrition is about human performance, function and effervescence, not some mathematical equation!
Hence: we were never formulated to survive on sugar, refined flour, and the hideous industrial vegetable and seed oils, that are the nucleus of all human interfered with western trailer trash diets.
Add to this we were never built to be under 24/7 365 cataclysmic stress levels from work commitments, family pressures, social pressures and "trying to be like "MIKE", so to speak!
Nor were we constructed to sit for hours on end, eyes taped to a bloody screen, hunched over ipads, iphones, and alike, and under the hideous artificial lights.
And live on 3-4 hours of broken sleep each night, this is just the perfect storm for dis-ease, yes the catalyst for chronic disease!
I again hope this little blog elicits some anger, some emotion, and maybe even some action, because that my friends is what this is for!
To expose you all to the truth, and importantly that YOU have the answers to all your PROBLEMS, YOU simply have to want to re-engineer your physiology and chemistry to work for YOU, NOT against YOU!
