Raising Daughters, Breaking Cycles 💛

One of the deepest commitments I’ve made in my life is to break the generational cycles that once defined my past. As a daughter myself and a mother to four daughters, I’ve been intentional about raising them in a home filled with love, safety, and emotional security—something I never had growing up.

Breaking cycles isn’t just about what we teach our children—it’s about who we become for them. I’ve had to unlearn survival mode, heal my own wounds, and choose a different path so they never have to question their worth or their safety.

💛 I teach them that love should feel safe, never fearful.

💛 I show them that their voices matter, and they never have to shrink themselves to be loved.

💛 I remind them that boundaries are their birthright, not something to apologize for.

Healing isn’t just for us—it’s for the next generation. Every time we choose differently, we rewrite the story.

To every mother working to break the cycle: You are doing the hardest and holiest work. Keep going. 🙏✨

Lessons from My Social Work Studies: Understanding Domestic & Family Violence 💜

As I sat in the Domestic & Family Violence (DFV) lecture in my Social Work degree, I’m reminded why I took this path—to equip myself with deeper knowledge and practical tools to help women in crisis.
Here are a few powerful insights I’ve gained so far:

🔹 DVF is more than physical violence – Coercive control, emotional abuse, financial manipulation, and isolation are just as damaging. Many women don’t even realize they are in an abusive situation until they learn the signs.

🔹 Leaving is the most dangerous time – The risk of harm escalates when a woman decides to leave. Safety planning, emotional support, and access to resources are critical.
🔹 Trauma affects decision-making – Many survivors struggle with guilt, self-blame, and fear, making it harder to break free. Understanding the trauma response (fight, flight, freeze, fawn) can help women reclaim their power.

🔹 Support changes lives – The right support system—whether professional help, a healing community, or even one trusted friend—can be the difference between staying trapped and rebuilding a new life.

Studying this from both a personal and professional lens is deeply moving. It’s a reminder that knowledge is power—and when women are empowered, they can break free and thrive. 💛

If you’re in a tough situation, know this: You are not alone. You are not to blame. And you are not powerless.

💬 I’d love to hear from you—what’s something you wish more people understood about DVF?

A New Chapter Begins for the Next Generation 💙💙

This was us In 2023, I took a leap of faith and started university with my daughter, Summer, to pursue a degree in Social Work. Walking onto campus that first day, was the most daunting thing I and we have ever done!

After everything I’ve been through, I knew deep in my heart that my purpose was to help women break free from cycles of trauma, abuse, and dysfunction. I didn’t just want to share my story—I wanted to be equipped to walk with others as they rebuild their own.

Studying with Summer by my side has made this journey even more special. It’s a reminder that healing isn’t just about ourselves—it’s about the next generation. It’s about showing our daughters what’s possible when we refuse to let our past define us.

No matter how hard life has been, you are never too broken to rebuild. And you are never too old to start again. 😉 💛

5 Months. Countless Late Nights. One Loyal Sidekick. ✨🐾

For the past five months, I’ve been deep in the process of writing The Rebuilt Woman—a book born from my own journey of healing, resilience, and faith. Some days, the words pour out effortlessly; other days, I wrestle with the weight of the stories I’m telling. But through it all, one thing has remained constant—Ozzy, my faithful little companion, always by my side. ❤️

He’s curled up next to me during long writing sessions, kept me grounded when emotions run high, and reminded me to take breaks (usually for his own benefit 😆). Healing isn’t just about looking back—it’s about moving forward, step by step, word by word.

If you’re on your own journey of rebuilding, know this: You are not alone. Keep going. Keep believing. Keep writing your own story. 🙏✨
