One thing we wish more women knew about endometriosis?

Pain isn’t linear.

In our From the Clinic Room series, we’ve been sharing honest insights from our women’s health physio team throughout Endometriosis Awareness Month.

These are the conversations we have with women in clinic every day — the things we wish more people understood sooner.

With endometriosis, it’s completely normal for pain to fluctuate. Some days feel better, others feel like a step backwards — and that doesn’t mean your condition is worsening or that you’re doing anything wrong.

Progress isn’t about having perfect days. It’s about learning how to listen to your body, make small adjustments, and zoom out to see the bigger picture over time.

If you’ve been following along this month, we hope this series has helped you better understand your body — and feel a little less alone in what you’re experiencing.

One thing we wish more women knew about endometriosis?

Pelvic floor tightness doesn’t mean your pelvic floor is weak.

In our From the Clinic Room series, we’re sharing honest insights from our women’s health physio team for Endometriosis Awareness Month.

These are the conversations we have with women in clinic every day — the things we wish more people understood sooner.

Endometriosis is often associated with increased tension through the pelvic floor, which can contribute to pain and dysfunction. But this doesn’t automatically mean the muscles are weak — and treating them like they are can sometimes make symptoms worse.

This becomes especially important during pregnancy. Assessing and managing pelvic floor tension can play a key role in preparing the body for birth, particularly if a vaginal delivery is planned.

One thing we wish more women knew about endometriosis?

It’s not just about period pain.

In our From the Clinic Room series, we’re sharing honest insights from our women’s health physio team for Endometriosis Awareness Month.

These are the conversations we have with women in clinic every day… The things we wish more people understood sooner.

Endometriosis can also affect bladder function, bowel symptoms and the pelvic floor. For many women, these symptoms can be just as disruptive as the pain itself.

Which is why management often needs to extend beyond medication or surgery alone. A whole-team approach — including pelvic health physiotherapy — can play an important role in supporting symptoms and improving quality of life.

PSA for any mama Googling “when can I exercise after birth” at 2am 🙋‍♀️

The answer? When your body is ready — and we’re here to help you figure that out safely.

Our mums & bubs reformer classes aren’t just about moving your body. They’re about reconnecting with yourself, building strength from the inside out, and doing it all with your bub by your side (yes, feeding stops are absolutely welcome 🤎).

Led by our women’s health physio, every class is tailored, supportive, and zero pressure. You don’t need to have it together. You just need to show up.

Come as you are. We’ll handle the rest 🫶🏻

As women, many of us grew up believing that severe period pain is just something we have to deal with each month.

Turns out, it’s not. 😑

While some discomfort during your cycle can be normal (we’re talking the odd cramp here and there), pain that stops you from living your life isn’t.

Pain is one of the body’s ways of communicating.

For some women, symptoms like severe period pain or persistent pelvic pain may be linked to conditions such as endometriosis.

So if painful symptoms keep returning month after month (or show up at other times in your cycle), it’s worth exploring what might be sitting behind them. We're here if you're ready to start the conversation. 🤎

Pregnancy changes your body, but it doesn’t make it fragile.

With the right support, it can actually be a time to build strength and confidence in your body.

In our physio-led Pregnancy Studio classes, you’ll often see mamas-to-be lifting dumbbells, kettlebells and working through strength and pilates exercises.

Not to push harder.

But to help them:

• support their changing body
• maintain strength through pregnancy
• prepare for birth and recovery
• feel capable in their body as it adapts

Because pregnancy isn’t about doing less.

It’s about moving well.

And strength training can absolutely be part of that 🤎🤰

One thing we wish more women knew about endometriosis?

You’re not being dramatic.

In our From the Clinic Room series, we’re sharing honest insights from our women’s health physio team for Endometriosis Awareness Month.

These are the conversations we have with women in clinic every day… The things we wish more people understood sooner.

For many women, it can take years to receive a diagnosis, and even then there can be a mismatch between what is seen clinically and what someone is actually experiencing.

Pain with endometriosis isn’t always explained by the lesions alone. The pelvic floor, bladder, bowel and nervous system can all contribute to the experience of pain — which is why a broader treatment approach can be so important.

In Australia, at least 1 in 7 people assigned female at birth are living with endometriosis.

For many, the journey to diagnosis isn’t straightforward.

It can look like years of painful periods brushed off as “normal”.
It can look like fatigue you can’t quite explain.
It can look like feeling dismissed, confused, or quietly wondering if you’re overreacting.

At The Wellness Boutique, we work with many women navigating endometriosis and persistent pelvic pain.

And one thing we hear often is:
“I wish someone had explained this to me earlier.”

So we’re starting with the basics.

Swipe through for a clear overview of what endometriosis is, how it can show up in the body, and why getting answers can take time.

March is Endometriosis Awareness Month, so if someone in your life has been struggling with painful periods or pelvic pain, consider sharing this with them too.

Ever find yourself doing a “just in case” wee before leaving the house? 🚽

Our women’s health physio Danni is chatting about the habit after a recent article on — and why it might be teaching your bladder to feel urgent even when it doesn’t need to be.

Your bladder is trainable (in both directions). So when is a “just in case” wee ok?

Watch to hear Danni explain.

An introduction.
