Today we pause to remember and honour the courage, sacrifice and service of all who have served — and those who continue to serve.
We acknowledge the enduring legacy carried by veterans and serving members, and recognise that the impacts of service often extend long after the uniform is worn.
Lest we forget.

Earlier this week, our team attended the Frontline Conference alongside colleagues from across Aurora Healthcare. It was a fantastic opportunity to share insights, connect with frontline professionals, and showcase the specialised mental health services we provide to our community.

A big focus for us was our Trauma Program—an evidence‑informed, multidisciplinary program supporting people living with the impacts of trauma. We’re proud to offer a safe, structured and therapeutic environment supported by experienced clinicians and personalised treatment pathways.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Aurora Healthcare booth to meet the team and learn more about how we’re helping individuals rebuild confidence, stability and wellbeing. 💙

If you didn’t get a chance to chat with us, feel free to reach out—we’re always here to help.

At Currumbin Clinic, we reflect with deep gratitude on the lives of those who served our country. Today, we honour not only their courage and sacrifice, but also the strength of the families and communities who have supported them. We are especially mindful of the veterans and service personnel we’ve had the privilege to care for—past and present—and we remain committed to walking alongside them on their journey to healing and wellbeing.

Lest we forget.

🎖️ It’s been a big week of veteran engagement for Currumbin Clinic! 🎖️

We were proud to attend both the Gold Coast Health and Support Expo at Currumbin RSL and the Queensland Veterans and Veterans' Families Strategy public consultation forum at Mercure Gold Coast. These events provided valuable opportunities to connect with veterans, families, and service providers, and to contribute to shaping the future of veteran wellbeing in Queensland.

At the Gold Coast Health and Support Expo, we loved speaking with everyone who stopped by to learn more about our veteran-focused mental health services, including:

🔹 Our Trauma Program – supporting veterans living with PTSD and trauma-related conditions through structured, evidence-based care.

🔹 Our DVA Admission Pathways – offering streamlined access to inpatient and day programs tailored to the needs of current and former serving members.

🔹 Currumbin Mind & Body Clinic – our outpatient wellness centre providing holistic support through psychology, dietetics, exercise physiology, and group therapy, helping veterans maintain their wellbeing beyond hospital care.

We’re committed to supporting the veteran community with compassionate, specialised care — and we’re grateful to be part of these important conversations and initiatives.

Earlier this week, staff and patients from Currumbin Clinic came together for a beach clean-up at Currumbin Beach in celebration of Mental Health Awareness Week.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who participated — your time, energy and care helped us give back to the community and protect the beautiful natural surrounds we’re privileged to be part of.

This initiative was more than just a clean-up. It was a moment of connection — to self, others, community, and nature — reminding us all of the powerful link between mental wellbeing and the world around us.

Today at Currumbin Clinic we came together to celebrate Mental Health Week with a vibrant lunchtime event that reminded us how connection, joy, and shared experiences support our wellbeing. From 12 to 2pm, the front main carpark was filled with the aromas of international cuisine—Mexican, American, and Southeast Asian—while Josh Lovegrove’s live music created a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

At 1pm, the gelato truck arrived and added a sweet touch to an already uplifting afternoon. It was more than just food and music—it was a chance to connect with ourselves, our community, and the moment, reinforcing the importance of nurturing mental health through simple, meaningful experiences.

"Mental Health Week at Currumbin Clinic is more than a tradition—it’s a reflection of who we are. It’s our way of saying that mental health matters, and that connection is at the heart of every step toward wellness. We look forward to sharing this special week with our community, and to continuing the conversation long after the final choc top is enjoyed."

Today we came together to celebrate connection, compassion, and the power of asking one simple question: “RU OK?”

At Currumbin Clinic, we know that mental health conversations can change lives. Whether it’s a chat over lunch, a walk with a friend, or a quiet moment of support — every conversation matters.

Our team marked the day with a BBQ, shared stories, and reflected on how we can all play a part in creating a culture of care. Because you don’t need to be an expert to ask, listen, and support.

Honouring Indigenous Wisdom in a Digital Age
Aurora Healthcare Australia proudly joins the global community in commemorating the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples on 9 August.

This year’s theme, “Indigenous Peoples and AI: Defending Rights, Shaping Futures”, invites us to reflect on how emerging technologies can both empower and challenge Indigenous communities. Artificial intelligence holds promise for preserving ancestral knowledge, revitalising languages, and improving access to culturally safe healthcare. But without ethical safeguards, it risks reinforcing bias and digital exclusion.

At Aurora Healthcare, we recognise the deep cultural, spiritual, and ecological wisdom of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Their knowledge systems have sustained communities and Country for tens of thousands of years. We believe that healthcare must honour this legacy—not just in words, but in practice.

At Currumbin Clinic, we proudly recognise NAIDOC Week and this year’s theme celebrating “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy.”

We honour the resilience and leadership of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and acknowledge the importance of supporting the next generation—especially in mental health and wellbeing.

As a healthcare provider, we’re committed to listening, learning, and working alongside First Nations communities to create safe, culturally informed spaces for healing and growth.

National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to reflect on our shared history, learn from the truths of the past, and commit to building a future grounded in respect, equity, and unity.

This year’s theme, “Now More Than Ever,” is a powerful reminder that the journey toward reconciliation is ongoing—and that every voice, every action, and every commitment matters. It calls on us to stand up for justice, to amplify First Nations voices, and to walk together toward a more inclusive and compassionate Australia.

Reconciliation is not a single moment—it’s a movement. And it belongs to all of us.
