Meet Michelle, one of the Pharmacists at Byron Compounding chemist… we asked Michelle a few burning questions about hormones …
Q : why have hormone levels checked?
Michelle: if you are feeling tired, irritable, having hot flushes , night sweats, putting on weight, generally not firing on all cylinders, it’s a great idea to check where your hormones are at.
Q: what about PMS ? Is there something that can help with that?
Michelle: Yes! A bit of 5HTP is amazing to improve mood and sense of wellbeing as well as some progesterone in the second half of the month.
Q: And how about the guys ? Do their hormone levels drop with age too?
Michelle: Yes, testosterone and DHEA levels so it is good to check these out and perhaps supplement with a cream or capsule, which you will need a prescription from your Dr for.
