Getting older doesn't mean doing less of what you enjoy!

This World Physiotherapy Day, we're focusing on the importance of healthy ageing.
Healthy aging looks like:

💪 staying active
🗣️ regular yarns with family and friends
🙆 stretching your joints and muscles
🍽️ eating healthy meals
⚖️ improving your balance

Strengthening and stretching your muscles is crucial to staying strong and flexible as you age. Our deadly physiotherapists can work with you in developing a plan to support your body and lifestyle. They may connect you with other services such as exercise physiology for Work It Out or hydrotherapy.

This month's Stretch of the Month is a simple yet effective Seated Glute Stretch—perfect for those who spend a lot of time sitting!

How to do it:
1. Sit up tall in a chair with your feet flat on the ground.
2.Cross one ankle over the opposite knee, creating a figure-4 shape.
3. Gently press down on the crossed knee to open up your hip.
4. Lean forward slightly from your hips (keeping your back straight) until you feel a stretch in your glute.
5. Hold for 20-30 seconds, then repeat on the other side.

This stretch is ideal for releasing tightness in the hips and glutes, especially if you’re sitting for long periods of time. It’s easy, effective, and takes just a minute!

Our deadly trainees are showing us how to do it. Give it a go and let us know how it works for you!
